USC Friday Column Supplement

In 1964, USC had a brutal schedule. The Trojans played Colorado, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Notre Dame.

Oklahoma and Ohio State were ranked No. 2 in the naton at the time they played USC. No wonder the Trojans went 7-3, losing to Michigan State (17-7) and Ohio State (17-0). They beat Oklahoma in Norman, 40-14.

They upset No. 1-ranked Notre Dame, 20-17, after famously falling behind, 17-0.

  • Did you know Jerry Sharman, the son of USC basketball great Bill Sharman, enrolled in 1964 and was a member of the Trojans’ basketball team.

Jerry Sharman was the CIF 2-A Player of the Year at Charter Oak High School. But he didn’t earn a letter at USC.

  • Also in 1964, John McKay began weekly meetings of the Student Quarterback Club, where he would bring coaches and players and show game films to the students. The club was designed to increase student interest in USC sports. Imagine if Lincoln Riley did something like that today?
  • There really seemed to be more places to eat in the old days. Here’s an ad for Bloom’s Delicatessen, which was right on Jefferson.

If you wanted something a little fancier, there was the Raffles, which had $1 lunch specials and prime rib for $2.95. It was 3.3 miles from USC in Leimert Park.

  1. The Wolfman said “There really seemed to be more places to eat in the old days”. I want to predict that there will be even less places to eat in the future. Most of the places to eat are small businesses. The globalist want to eliminate the middle class. That means all these restaurants will eventually go out of business. Everybody who sells something that you don’t need will go out of business. If you are a globalist, the name of the game is to take the many and turn them into the few. It’s easier to control a small amount of monopolies than to control millions of small businesses and, trust me, It’s all about control. The same thing is true of countries. That’s why they are pushing to come up with conglomerates like the European Union. The E.U. takes about 26 nations and turns them into one big nation. I’ve talked to a lot of small business owners and they really believe Uncle Joe when he tells them that he wants to help small business. They are waiting for Joe to start acting on their behalf. My advice is don’t hold your breath. Joe’s goal is to drive small business out of business.
It amazes me that the American people are too blind to see what is coming when The U.N and the World Economic Forum are telling you on their websites what they are going to do. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. How more open could they be when(about a year ago) they had a commercial on TV about “the Great Reset” where they said “you will own nothing and you will be happy”. That means you won’t own a car, a house, a TV set or anything else. Well then, who will own everything? The government. They’ll loan it to you if they like your political views. Yuval Noah Harari(one of the biggest movers and shakers in this globalist movement) said that “free will is almost dead in this world”. What does that mean? It means that if they have their way, freedom is about to become a dynasoar. Just keep voting for those democrats. Let’s turn this country into an Atlantic to Pacific concentration camp.

      1. I only wish more americans would open their eyes. They are telling us what they plan on doing. They’re telling us on their very websites. They’re not even trying to hide it. Hitler told the world what he planned on doing in 1922(17 years before he started his attempted conquest of Europe) when he wrote ‘Mein Kaumph’. But americans are still blind as a bat. As I have said before, Bill Gates said that “in the near future, 100% of americans will stop eating meat, in favor of some meat substitute”……”Don’t worry”, he said, “you’ll get used to it”. But what if I don’t want to get used to it? Wake up america!!! These rich elites think that they are the little Einsteins of the world and other 99% of us are lab rats who are too dumb to think for ourselves….so they will do us a favor and think for us.

    1. #BillGates owns 270K acres of American farmland. Says here Gates is into seed and biofuel development. He’s also into developing and promoting meat substitutes and eliminating meat consumption for environmental reasons. Gates is also into developing vaccines. #DrEvil

Bill Gates’ purchase of North Dakota farmland has locals ‘livid’.

      1. Gates is a globalist wanting one world government with two parties, the people and the elites. Guess which one he thinks he is.

      2. I don’t know what they mean by bio-fuel but if they mean ethanol, you mean that at a time where food is scarce and people in 3rd world countries are starving, you’re going to grow corn for the purpose of turning it into a gas substitute instead of feeding people? That’s just one of the signs that these people are ruthless.

      4. General Jack D. Ripper: … But today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

      5. Gates in now the largest owner of farmland in the country. He will not develop it. His intention is to destroy our ability to feed ourselves and force us into ingesting unhealthy soy based meat substitutes. He wants to control everything we do including what we eat. Remember, Gates did not amass his 113 billion dollar fortune because he was a brilliant scientist who produced useful products which were superior to competing products. Rather, he is a monopolist who systematically eliminated competition through illegal schemes and than foisted crappy software on the public like Vista and Explorer and Word whenever we bought a computer. He along with Soros, Schwab, Kerry and others want to monopolize the world by forcing us to submit to one global authority controlled by them. Gates is diabolical and we need to wake up to this fact. He is at war with our country and the liberties it promises and he is winning.

    2. Great post Pman. I believe Joe has sold his soul and made his wife 1st lady. He has no say whatsoever, he is just a puppet for the “party” and his globalist advisors like Susan Rice and Co. If you notice even the people sitting in Cabinet positions are all idiot mouthpieces just like Joe. You see the old Joe videos and he was a totally middle of the road democrat with some good views on government. Not so today. Nobody changes as much has he has without selling out his soul to the devil.

      1. One thing for sure. That old man is not running anything. He may not be senile but he is very close to it. I don’t see why americans can’t see that. All through the campaign when he was running they had him hiding in his basement. They took a picture of one of the cue cards they give him when he is coming into the room to speak. It said:
“YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants.”
        “YOU take YOUR seat. ”
        “Press enters.”(whatever that means)
“YOU give brief comments […]” This note was partially blocked by Biden’s finger.
        “Press departs.”(whatever that means)
“YOU ask Liz Shuler, President, AFL-CIO, a question. Note: Liz is joining virtually.”
        “YOU thank participants.”
        “YOU depart.”
It sounds like if he doesn’t have that card he will walk straight into a wall. Yet about 39% of americans still believe he is doing a good job or at least that’s what the polls say. This is the guy that’s leading the free world?

Like Rush Limbaugh used to say, Ditto. Good job. The only thing that will hold these cold hearted nazis goose stepping sun’s of bi$ches back is the Second Amendment. These commie atheists liberals know that they can’t control the country unless they get rid of the rights to bear arms. That is how the Nazis and England has done it.

And…now…a word about Scott’s column. It would be very cool if Lincoln did assign somebody –not named Donte— to meets with students on campus on the the Tuesday or Wednesday after each game. Those mid 60’s Quarterback Club meetings were held in a classroom with seating capacity of a hundred (or more) …and they were always standing room only.

During the 4 month period in which the Supreme Court refused to get involved in ANY of the 22 cases brought by various candidates, voters and state officials alleging violation of both the Constitution and state election laws in 2020 our country went from one nation under law to a post law mobocracy.

  8. Michael, remarkably off topic question, but if you feel like it, I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts about how the 9th amendment’s enumeration clause has been interpreted by SCOTUS over the years. On the one hand, it seems to be an extremely important amendment in order to constrain governments. On the other hand, it seems like “anything goes” if one takes it to the extreme as “all the rights we haven’t specified explicitly are implicitly given to the people”.

    1. The HOPE of the framers was the federal legislature and each of the state legislatures would work together to ensure hardy commerce thru a national market (it wouldn’t be too great if each state thru which a train passed taxed it’s cargo at 100%] while protecting individual state interests…and that the federal & state legislatures would protect minority rights. We’re not following that model: the majority party is going to do their best to bludgeon the minority party from now on. It will occur in the form of bullshit hearings, bullshit arrests, unfair committees—angering the minority party (whichever party it may be at any given time) to the boiling point.
[And the idea that governors now end run their state legislatures by unilaterally adopting new election procedures 2 or 3 months before the election cycle only accelerates the date on which things are going to reach that boiling point]….

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Well put, thx! I am afraid the boiling point is here. I don’t know how else one can rationalize some of the people sitting in Congress today. What are the chances that we will ever again see the quality of politician at the level of those like Daniel Moynihan, Robert Taft, George Schulz? People who were intellectually gifted and who typically put the good of the country as their agenda.

      2. We don’t have such people today, 67. What worries me is the fact the repubs are so pissed (understandably —but regrettably) that all they can think about are “revenge hearings” when they regain power. We need them to focus on the pressing needs of the American people —we’re up against too much now to be fighting each other.

        Liked by 1 person

      3. Michael, I think we have those people, but they are unwilling to run for office/get involved in politics. I understand. It is a total sh*tshow now. And you are 100% spot on about the revenge factor. It just adds fuel to the fire.
