USC Practices At Coliseum

USC practiced this morning at the Coliseum.

It was completely closed to the media, which prevented any breathless fanboy reports from training camp.

As I said yesterday, it’s not a big deal unless you are curious about any possible position battles, such as along the offensive line or in the secondary. Those don’t really occur until full pads come on next week.

This was the USC-produced highlight from Friday. An impressive catch from Josh Falo.

But who else is going to note how many times safety Xavion Alford committed pass interference? Hopefully this is not being taught by Alex Grinch.

    1. That’s not how I remember it —I remember going to him in a big game on 4th and 2 and Falo taking the ball 13 yards…USC was then able to run out the clock for the win…

  1. “So Riley, we shall go to the Coliseum together and have bloody adventures. And the great whoore will suckle us until we are fat and happy and can suckle no more. And then, when enough teams have been beaten, perhaps you will have your CFP.” [edited]

  2. Falo will not be the starter. His history is not that good and Epps and McCree will get the most reps. Especially Epps, great receiver.

  3. TE Josh Falo came to USC with a ton of talent, and due to a lack of maturity has not seen the field much since his sophomore year. Looks like he has put on some muscle and weight so perhaps now he will get it together but I do think it will be tough for him to see the field this year with McCree, Epps, Ethan Rae, and a few others ahead of him. Surprised he did not transfer so I give him credit for sticking it out.

  4. Don’t be surprised to see Falo on an NFL scout team next year. Like some have said he has talent, and he made one of the biggest plays over the last few years when he caught the 4th down pass to ice the PAC12 championship game against Stanford

      2. Love that movie. It should be on everybody’s Christmas Film List. [Even if it made Spike Lee get all bitchy and say it was a “lie”]…

      3. BASED on a true story. And Spike, we all know there’s often a LOT of dramatic license taken in the make of a movie. But if Don Shirley had to endure even half of what is portrayed in the film, it was admirable of him to charge on and share his gift with those lucky enough to be in the audience.

    1. Wow! The difference between USC’s annual worth and Notre Dame’s is embarrassing. Hope & trust Lincoln changes things around by 2025.

      1. NBC has to meet Notre Dame’s asking price. They need ND to promote their Peacock streaming service. USC and ND will become a marquee matchup again with the new coaches.

      2. At the risk of sounding like a Girly Man again–I’m scared of Notre Dame’s new coach…
