Not Sold On Supposed USC Starting Lineup

Let’s revisit the potential depth chart because I’m not sold on some of these supposed starting lineups.

And — big surprise — I’m talking offensive line. I think USC’s best left tackle is Bobby Haskins. And even though Jonah Monheim has been the No. 1 right tackle since the spring, remember he got benched halfway through last season.

That leads me to believe USC could flip Courtland Ford to right tackle if Haskins starts at left tackle. This could mean Monheim moves to right guard. I’m not convinced Justin Dedich is the locked-on starter at right guard if Monheim isn’t at tackle.

  • I frequently mentioned the status of Korey Foreman because of all the praise he got in the spring from the media. Another player who got a lot of hype in spring was defensive end Solomon Tuliaupupu. I’m not even sure how much he’s practiced the past 2-3 weeks. He’s missed practices. He didn’t dress Saturday. So I don’t see how you can expect much at this point.

      2. The imposter Ed is original and funny, while original one has a stubby little peenus and loves to talk about it. But honestly, I’d love ❤️ to suck on it..Yum Yum 😋

There is something a little sick about what you do. Humor as in Ed G. Is higher level thinking and imitation would be flattering if it were a good imitation, but yours is not at the same level as Ed and it’s obvious you don’t know it.

    1. So Cal,

I respectfully disagree. The camera is trained on USC’s center. It is the after effect of the camera shot that you are seeing. If you notice, the last two queer asses for ugly are out of focus as well. My opinion. Thank you.

  1. I think SC will be really good this year mainly because their offense will be explosive. But I’m not really counting on them to make the playoffs. They still don’t have the talent to be a playoff team. The Ohio State’s, Alabama’s and Georgia’s can go out there and practice everyday like demons. If there are injuries, they have 4 and 5 stars on the 3rd string.
SC doesn’t have that kind of depth especially on defense. With all the injuries, I’m beginning to wonder how good their defense will be this year. One problem is that 2 out of the last 3 years were bad recruiting years. In 2021, they finished #7 but in 2020 and 2022 they were 64th and 65th. That has hurt them. They are going to need some time to rebuild.
I do think that they got rid of too many players after 2021. I understand that they wanted to start with a new slate but it would be nice to still have guys like Jake Lichtenstein, Danny Lockhart, Hunter Echols and Raymond Scott on the roster.

  2. Sorry to disagree but Mr Echols will forever be remembered as the player loafing during the Cal loss to end 2021 season. Coach Riley witnessed it and Hunter soon was out of the program. Helton was awful recruiter last couple of classes and I am happy to see majority have left.

    1. Yeah, SUCC flipped Echols from UCLA. I remember Pissant ’76 gleefully gave me a ration of sh*t about UCLA losing Echols. SUCC flipped a 2 FB player……..LOL

Do you know the entire story? The answer is no, because you are in your drunken stupor. Hunter and Phillips, the dude who played at ugly for about 10 minutes and went to Miami were both going to go to ugly. However Hunter got smart and went to SC. Phillips original school was SC but his daddy had to sign the papers because Phillips was 17 years old and he needed an adult to sign. Phillips asked his dad to let him go to SC in the worst way but the dad, being an ugly douche bag said no to the boy. I guess the dad got money from ugly. Probabaly quarters and dimes since the Johnny Cheetin’ Wooden fund to pay off players ran out of money. Now the truth has been told, you can go back to your two story cardboard box on Cerritos Ave and get back into your stupor.

    2. Echols was a talented player. He did have his problems….some people said he was a complainer. I’d just like to have one more edge rusher. Who knows…..maybe his attitude would change if he found himself on the practice squad.

    3. YoungDole,

I respect your opinion. However, the plays were going away from him. He was too light to play preditor de. To play that position you need to be around 240-250lbs. Echols was around 220. The position that he played did not suit his body. My opinion. BTW, I do have a bias for Hunter. His mother works with me and I have known Hunter since he was a young boy. He is a very fine young man and so his is brother. The family is a good family as well. Thank you.

  3. I’m expecting a 11-2 season like Michigan State last season who brought in a bunch of transfers after going 2-5 in 2021. And USC’s transfer class better than MSU’s.

      1. USC might lose at Stanford and Oregon State, both who pounded them last year. And USC might beat Utah and Notre Dame, the two toughest on their schedule. Just don’t know at this point, but yes rapid improvement barring injuries. I’ll stand by 11-2 or 12-2. Two losses probably leaves them out of CFP.

      2. Beavs are building a strong program. Stanford looks to be weak again, but you never know. Would love to beat the domers and the utes. Utes gave up nearly 700 yards in offense to Ohio State last year, and they lost several key defensive starters.

    1. Unless some of those defensive players start getting healthy, I’m beginning to wonder if they will win 10 games….they should win at least 9 but they need help on defense.

First, he has not been allowed to observe a practice and therefore cannot possibly evaluate the line play this summer. He possesses no information to form a belief.
Second, he has never coached or played the position and therefore likely does not have the ability to evaluate the nuances of offensive line play. Other than that, fire away Mr. Wolf and feel free to tell Monheim or Dedich that in your opinion they have not earned a starting job. Wolf’s analysis is similar to Goober’s comments on Trump, Covid, the economy and the accomplishments of the Biden administration. We live in a time where support for one’s opinions don’t seem to matter much. Just fire away and pretend Biden is an improvement over Trump.

      1. Frankly LJ, you need to turn political. Our country is at a pivotal juncture. The days wherein you can sit on the sideline are over. You can stand up and resist or get run over.

Our borders are being overrun by design, politicians are intentionally not enforcing our laws, drug overdoses and suicides are an epidemic, murders are at a 25 year high, property crimes, cash bail, and stop and frisk have been eliminated, we can’t find people that even want to be cops, our DAs are funded by Soros, politicians are trying to take away are right to bare arms and defend ourselves, parents are being told that they do not have the right to object to what is taught to their children including the normalcy of sexual perversions, white privilege and that we are an inherently racist country and if they do object they are put on on a domestic terror list, election integrity measures such as photo ID and signature verification are called racist, the dems want to expand the Supreme Court, eliminate the filibuster, and add DC and Puerto Rico to the union so they have total control of all legislation, dems want to eliminate fossil fuels by 2050 thereby resulting in an oil and gas energy production crisis and accompanied inflation, the deficit is out of control and yet both parties continue to spend thereby devaluing the dollar, our military is now woke with transgender officers and enlistment is down 40% at a point where we are threatened by China and Russia, we cannot trust the FBI or DOJ, we abandoned Afghanistan and left 80 billion in arms to a terrorist state resulting in our allies distrusting us, we are told that the government can lockdown our businesses and shut down our schools and churches, experimental vaccines that now show no efficacy against infection and appear to cause blood clots were mandated for schools and public employment, and North Korea and Iran will soon have the capability of hitting us with an ICBM.

But don’t worry LJ, we have China Joe and congress looking out for us. No need to ever mention politics. Let Goober say all is well and don’t confront him.

    1. Wolf is obviously basing his critical opinion on last year. There is no way in hell this team will remotely resemble the defense or offense of last season. LR got rid of guys for what he saw, how they acted and if they could play at his level. We should never miss the guys that left. Except for Trigg.

Veteran transfer Mekhi Blackmon has provided much-needed stability to an otherwise inexperienced CB unit — just as #USC hoped he would.

I think based upon experience you would be correct about Haskins, he’s played a whole bunch of football at this level. But you have no idea how Ford has progressed. He is a crazy athlete and a giant. He has a much higher ceiling than Haskins. If he puts it together, he has First round draft pick type of ceiling.

  9. There is no real information except from the coaching staff, so it is impossible to tell who is going to start. I think that the coaching staff uses the competition for positions to really push the players.

I really doubt that Dedich is going to lose his place on the line. From everything the coaches say, Dedich is rock solid.

  10. I also think that there are alot of fans who are forgetting that the offensive line improved alot last year (compared to the rest of the team). With another year of improvement and continuity, they should be very solid this year. Vorhees is probably a first round pick, Neilon is a very smart and experienced center. This o line is probably way underrated by fans and even the media at this point.

Are they SEC good? Probably not. But definitely able to deal with the Pac-12 competition they will face this year.

  11. If you have to argue the sky is falling, but you haven’t left the country, then eat some more meth and shut up already. If your so high and mighty then run for office. Your probably just as dumb and suck like all politicians.

As for the football related stuff, Charles is 100% correct. Remember this. . .who are the fastest and most talented players for each team that USC will face and match them up against USC and call plays against USC. Imagine being the DC against mobile Williams, that WR group with an experienced core of linemen in the middle of the line of scrimmage. Well, if your an OC, you think Tuli is the only person to stop but you get Blackmon, Gentry, Lee, Figueroa and depth instead of just bodies.

    11-2 sounds right.
