USC announced this morning wide receiver Jordan Addison and Tuli Tuipulotu will drive Mercedes-Benz S500s this season. The cars are valued at $120,000 each per USC.
The deal “was struck between BLVD and Fletcher Jones Motorcars.”
“We want to do something unlike you’ve seen before,” BLVD chief Michael Calvin Jones said.
REACTION: OK, let’s cut through the hype. USC coaches have had cars from Fletcher Jones FOR DECADES. I’m going to repeat that: USC coaches have had cars from Fletcher Jones for decades. I doubt BLVD even negotiated the deal. Someone else in the athletic dept. who already deals with Jones probably did.
So don’t act like BLVD pulled off a coup by expanding an already existing relationship with a car dealer that has strong USC ties.
Oh, they got cars for the Biletnikoff Award winner and best defensive player? Congrats. The rich get richer. BLVD claims it has gotten hundreds of thousands in deals for linemen. So how come they don’t show them?
Instead, this pablum gets spread below:
