Kedon Slovis Vs. JT Daniels

Big game today as Kedon Slovis squares off against JT Daniels in a battle of benched USC QBs.

The irony is Slovis caused Daniels to leave USC and now Daniels is playing for the offensive coordinator (Graham Harrell) who chose Harrell over Daniels at USC.

What to watch for? Can Slovis regain his form and stay healthy? Can Daniels take a hit and show leadership?

Who am I taking? Neither. I’m going against Harrell.

Maybe Jaxson Dart will be in attendance too.

  4. Wow blown false start call by the refs leads to six points for West Virginia. The end was moving drew defense across and a delay of game call on the defense giving WV a first down.

  6. Graham Harrell never wanted Daniels to be the QB. He wanted Slovis from the first time he saw him when he was 4th string. He complained that Daniels held on to the ball too long and spent too much time thinking as opposed to just getting rid of the ball. When Harrell finally came out with his rotation, he purposely moved Slovis ahead of Fink and Sears into 2nd string hoping that Daniels would get hurt. Daniels did get hurt and Slovis had a season that made him look like the next great QB in football(that is actually what I thought). He was never the same after that.
    Meanwhile, Daniels transferred to the wrong school. He should have been the QB at Georgia. Hopefully he hasn’t made another bad decision to transfer back under a guy who didn’t want him the first time around.

      He was the starter, for the last 4 games in 2020, after returning from a knee injury. He threw for over 1200 yards in the last four games. In 2021, he started the first 3 games until lat and oblique injury sidelined him

      He WAS the QB, until a hotter hand took over. Bennett was better, I watched all their games, and he was also great in the NC game.

      Why would you call it the wrong school? He was given ample time to prove himself and won a Natty….

      1. I definitely don’t think that Bennett is a better QB than Daniels. I think Daniels is an outstanding QB. His problem is injuries. He’s never had time to show what he can do, except in high school. But when he has had the chance to play, he has played well.

      2. I concur – Smart saw something in Bennett and finally got that NC over AL.

        J. T. Daniels’ entourage (his father, the QB academy, prof. video recorders, personal coaches, ‘shrinks’ et. al.) did him no good when it came time to make a choice between him and anyone else – @ USC or GA…too much drama for a ‘male’ for other men to believe he was a ‘leader’.

      AM640 tried, but switched it off and went to John & Ken once it was apparent that all it was, was an anti-Trump speech. They thought he might say something worthwhile.

      He forgot about all that “healing the nation” he said he was going to do.

  10. Enjoying Pitt-WVU … two evenly-matched teams. JT Daniels looks good though he hasn’t played since 2018. 14/20, 108 yards … did a Mahomes-like sidearm pass on that last drive.

  14. What a difference a coach makes. JT Daniels hasn’t been under center once. Slovis has been under center several plays including all within the 10 yard line. Harrell is not an offensive coordinator. Daniels has been hit several times and putting him under center would make the run game wake up. Pitt’s coordinator is way better.

  16. Slovis looked better. But neither, based on tonight, are going to play post-college. NFL is about getting the ball out quickly, neither does that, and neither has close to NFL foot speed.

    More telling, Scottie slips up, with “Who am taking? Neither. I’m going against Harrell.”

    This says it all. Scottie is the character Miles in the old film “Sideways”. Life passed him by. Trying to make a living by being a chronic downer. The blog needs a blood transfusion. Glad there are a dozen or so posters who make it worthwhile to be here, but the Wolfman really needs a blog do-over.

  17. My 48 hour sabbatical is over. Hey MG & LJ I observed WV vs Pitt game, helluva game. IMHO Kedon Slovis was masterful under center, poise in the pocket was great he looked like Freshman Slovis. He needs to keep progressing n he will find himself being a late 2nd round pick. Daniel’s will be a 5-7 round pick nothing he does impresses me. 2 number 12’s impressed me Pitt corner devonshire great technique and speed. Freshman RB Henderson is a beast, Hey Jordan call your boy Devonshire and tell him we need you, we will get you a Benz, UA NIL deal asap, and make a top pick in next year draft. LR see who he played with on 7 on 7 team, get him to a SBR rep asap, start right now. If we could pull this off him and R. Brown will Thunder n Lightning 2.0 Remember White and Bush. Did you see what happens when defense plays with intensity, physicality and passion the way Pitt n WV played with lesser talent. Just saying with the and overall athleticism and speed on our defense.   20. The smile on Slovis’ face as he took a knee in the Victory Formation wasn’t about winning the game. It was him thinking “I knew it. You really don’t half to be in the Shotgun in the Victory Formation. I knew it!!! I knew it!!! I knew it !!!”
