It always helps to have a bye, especially with the polls.
USC moved up two spots and is No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Trojans actually tied Wake Forest for 10th as they each had 927 points.
Oregon is No. 8, UCLA No. 12 and Utah No. 14.
USC moved up one spot and is No. 11 in the coaches’ poll.

Love it! That was always my favorite [deliberately lame] answer when I was being cross examined by supervisors at the City Attorney’s office over a proposed trial strategy: “This is gonna work …or I’ll know the reason why!”

It’s going to be a hard sell for Helton to say they’re the State of Georgia Champs with Georgia being ranked #1.

Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian both lost yesterday.
7 Win Sark might not win 7 games for the second year in a row, so his ass will get fired, boosters in Austin won’t put up with that loser.
Kiffin has had it easier at ‘Ol Miss. Back to back seasons with creampuff schedules should buy that Bozo another year before his ass gets bounced.

Did John have to hear that MissusEd.G? People are always giving the same reason [something called ‘standards’] for not letting my in- laws visit their houses. But I try to protect my in-laws feelings by only sharing all the hatred that’s expressed against them with anybody who happens to be reading this blog…

As long as we win we will be able to move up. Oklahoma St, TCU will drop out of top 10 when we play against UCLA. Championship weekend we need to be ranked 6 or better n win Championship game and be 12-1, to be in the running. We are going to need Michigan Clemson and either Alabama or Tennessee to have 2 losses, which will guarantee us a berth. If Tennessee makes title game n lose by 3 points or less, I believe they will be selected over us if Michigan doesn’t have 2 losses. There will be a lot of scenarios each week, so all this could be wrong, just my opinion.

George Tirebiter had an interesting question from the previous segment where I stated that even if SC runs the table they still need Oregon to beat Utah to qualify for an SC-Oregon title game
However, assuming SC, Utah and Oregon run the table up until the Utah-Oregon game and further assuming Utah beats Oregon, how does it shake out to determine the 2 finalists?
— Complicated. SC, Utah and Oregon would all have one conference loss, but Utah would be in by virtue of their SC and Oregon victories, so it would be between Oregon and SC for the second spot.
Since Oregon lost to non-conference Georgia, if SC beats non-conference ND Troy is in but what if SC loses to ND, then I believe the team to play Utah would be the one with the highest poll ranking and with SC and Oregon both having freshly lost it could be a close poll.
So we have to root for SC running the table and for Utah to beat Oregon.
P.S. sucla has a chance too since they beat Utah, and if sucla wins out (including beating SC), then sucla would play the winner of the Utah-Oregon game if it is Utah, but if Oregon I believe they would have to look at the comparable poll positions between sucla and Oregon
Did we mention this gets complicated, so thanks a lot George for your question, but next time could you please confine your questioning to asking us something simpler like what is our social security number or what did we have for breakfast
