Morning Buzz: How Are Defenses Dealing With USC?

I spoke to a Pac-12 defensive coordinator Sunday night who has watched USC play multiple times this season.

“Teams try to take away the deep ball,” the coordinator said. “Oregon and Washington run more of a system (offensively). USC caters to its playmakers because they are good.

“Teams that have hurt USC have a good front 7. Oregon State played zone and ran combination coverages. They mixed it up but they had a good front.

“Sometimes it looks like they throw more to No. 4 (Mario Williams) than Jordan Addison. (Williams) drops the ball a little bit. Their receivers do make plays here or there.

“The quarterback makes a few bad throws.”

“To have some success, you really need a good front as much as people might focus on the secondary.”

I probably should not mention that Florida is one of fastest growing states and that people leave blue states in droves–you know the states that are– among other things—imposing their sick “gender” policies on our schools despite parents pleas. That might be information overload…yeah, that’s it, that is what I will say. Okay, enough thinking for the day, back to Felix and Rock Bottom.

      3. Really? Arrested for voter fraud isn’t voter suppression, it’s the law that the governor swore to uphold. And just because this video paints it as a racist act, doesn’t make it so. In Civics class in the 70s we learned one of the things we lost by being convicted of a felony was the right to vote. It’s part of the punishment. Just because you don’t know the law doesn’t mean you’re not guilty of breaking it.
        Each Citizen is guaranteed one vote. Not dead ones, not illegal ones not one if by in person, two if by mail.

  4. I can tell you one thing, Jordan Addison will not be the first receiver picked in the draft. I would say he most likely won’t be a first round pick either probably more like a second or third rounder. If you want to see the elite receivers in the country look at Ohio State or Tennessee

  6. We are entering a new world and dont even know it. Xi being appointed for another term and putting his most loyal followers in the inner circle and his list of grievances including Taiwan and Hong Kong – watch out world because very dark times are ahead.

    Every single American should know this moment that a billion Chinese people are your sworn enemy (their perspective). The Chinese culture is filled with thieving rats, always has been, and they really have no moral compass in their society, so dont ever think they want a world of peace and freedom and prosperity for all. It is a culture of oppression of the weak/powerless.

    From a political standpoint, it is time to come together and strengthen the core of the US. We need to stop the liberal experiment that has been unleashed on the country and in particular is the media’s bias. Time to shore up finances, focus the world on choosing sides – it is us and freedom or it is China and slavery.

    Sorry for the political rant, I wont bring it up again, but time for liberals and the coddlers of ridiculous liberal fantasies to WAKE the F UP! Your leadership is duplicitous and inept. And Republicans, please can you elect someone other than Trump to run???

Ju, who is quite frail, was having some kind of episode wherein his frailness was accelerating at an alarming rate during the final minutes of the congressional meeting [I saw a Twilight Zone episode about this very thing — but it happened to a reporter and he wasn’t frail…he just kissed Cleopatra in the 20th century and started to decompose —but I digress]. Anyway, to spare Hu from embarrassment Xi thoughtfully had him dragged out of the assembly on national television.

      In an interview released Sunday, Dementia Joe stated that his student-debt forgiveness initiative had “passed by a vote or two” even though it was never voted on in Congress!!

  8. China is going to go through a bigger recession than us. They don’t allow foreign investment into domestic companies and the flow of money is restricted. Plus, China is very opaque when it comes to ownership by the Commie party and business losses. China doesn’t believe in quality control and their lack of creativity is eroding their competitiveness. When I talk to business owners in China, they speak about the level of anger about the zero tolerance policy being disruptive to the normal procedures in that society.

    You Faux Trump supporters crack me up when you say “he’s better than Brandon” or “we wouldn’t be in war with Trump” but won’t acknowledge Trump said nothing when Russia was paying the Taliban to kill our soldiers. Or the fact that Bolton and the other idiots took our spies out of China because they didn’t publicly support Trump.

    That doesn’t mean the Democrats and the left get a pass. The pimping of the LGBTQ+ and voters of color have come to roost. Bernie Sanders admits to being a socialist. What he can’t admit is what society, run by socialists, has thrived better than a capitalist nation without using capitalism? There ain’t any.

    Jordan Addison is the highest rated wide receiver on Mel Kiper and McVay’s draft board because of his all around game. The Steelers will not let him drop past the first round. Riley has a chance to self scout during this bye. Can’t wait to see what he’s learned.

  10. That’s why they need to get some 4 and 5 stars in the front 7 and not try to win with 3 stars who they think that they can develope. There are 2 and 3 stars who are real sleepers and even eventually become stars but you don’t win NC’s with 3 stars up front.

    1. We don’t win with 3 stars up front only 2-3 3 stars make a impact for every recruiting cycle, but great coaching elevates 3 stars to performing like a 4/5 star by their soph/jr season. Ditto Tuli Gentry. Let’s hope we can get Matayo and another 5 star DL to flip, I think we need to be focusing on that aspect if Matayo signs elsewhere. Great point parcelman007.
