Caleb Williams Wins Heisman Trophy

As expected, USC QB Caleb Williams won the Heisman Trophy in a landslide.

Williams is the 8th — yes 8th — USC player to win the award.

Discuss away!

Mike Garrett in 1965 and below at USC press conference after winning the Heisman.

Charles White at USC after winning Heisman in 1979.

Marcus Allen winning Heisman in 1981.

  1. Take that Biden & Pelosi!, You and the rest of the Libs may have kept us out of the National Championship game but couldn’t stop Caleb from winning the Heisman, I love watching the Libs tears right now.

      1. I worked in the ports – Brooklyn – Gowanus Creek and 35th Street Marine Terminal….Port Newark and Port Elizabeth and in Union Cty the old MOTBY Terminal in Bayonne also Packer Street MT in Philadelphia. Our work dept was in Cranford-NJ. We used to take the Goethals over to Staten Island and then the Verrazano over to Brooklyn. The Verrazano had a nickname ‘The Guinea Gangplank’ cuz’ so many Italians moved to Staten Osland after it was opened.

It is no exaggeration , the 35th Street MT was so blown out – entire brick walls lying horizontal on the streets….active power lines discharging – starving dogs wandering everywhere – you could have filmed ‘The Taking of Berlin’ it was in such awful shape (1979-80). Ed Koch had just been elected mayor in 1978…..his efforts were slowly bearing fruit of change.

Caleb in genuine especially in the fact that he is very generous and unselfish. He will be (barring a major injury) the first pick in the NFL draft next year.

      2. When you undermine Americans’ faith in elections by falsely and vociferously questioning election integrity without a shrewd of proof in order to stay in power when you legitimately lost, THAT undermines democracy.

      3. Oaktown — No court has wanted to touch one of these election fraud lawsuits. There hasn’t been one hearing. Kari Lake has just filed her lawsuit —let’s see whether the court hears it [and, if they don’t, whether the Supreme court, at some point, orders them to hear it]. I’ll live with whatever the court finds ….but there really should be an evidentiary hearing at some point on the massive chain of custody problems on mail-in ballots.

        Liked by 1 person

      4. C’mon MG, it’s called burden of proof. I’m no lawyer like you but whatever has been presented in court as evidence to begin a hearing has not satisfied the court as such, hence not one of these cases moved forward. All we hear from Trump and the likes of Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and others is that they have mountains of evidence to prove there was fraud—yet none is ever presented. Aren’t you tired of hearing the same? Don’t you want to examine this evidence yourself? It’s only been two years. What are they waiting for?

They have nothing. It’s all an attempt to gaslight Republicans and conservative Americans that the election was stolen. They are playing a very dangerous game.

      5. Oaktown,
You may not be a lawyer but you just made a fantastic argument. Funny how nobody never answers questions like yours.
I myself am a doubter of the election fraud claims but am open to seeing any evidence but nobody, from Trump to message board trolls has ever shown any.

  2. Congrats to USC and to Caleb Williams. I have watched many Heisman Trophy winner speeches, and this one was by far the best. Very polished and professional young man, and remember he is only a sophomore in college.

Dear Coach Riley as Caleb said there is still unfinished business to complete which means you need to recruit 21 great players next year to win it all, and that does not mean recruiting just wide receivers.

    FIGHT ON!!

Get the NIL thing figured-out and give some of the best defensive guys another incentive to come play at USC. Malachi and the young receivers will be absolute studs the next few years so we’ll be in the race for another Heisman, Biletnikoff and National Title!

with the ‘surviving-but-barely’ tribes from the country-wilds of Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State (The?) and last but not least, the 2022 Magical-Season for TCU, and
let us not forget the contribution of the ‘SC Trojans transforming college ball

And sorry, but I can be a sentimental-fool sometimes, ‘Celeb’s’ speech got me a couple of times as such–

Giving credit to his SC Offensive Linemen, saviors of Celeb’s soul, naming each of them one by one

(Drawing tears from SC Coach Wiley’s lovely wife) As Celeb gave deep thanks for their influence on his still developing life

Humorously remarking how he was honored to win the award that could have been given to any of the deserving ‘contestants, “I win the award, and they get to play for the National Championship…can’t win them all’

  10. One has to admit CW had a season unlike the 3 others on stage. They had another 21 guys playing really good football on both sides of the line. SC IS PRETTY GOOD ON THE OFFENSIVE SIDE, CW makes them really ,really good. The other half (defense)couldn’t make up their minds to be good or just plan lousy during most games, but usually just good enough to help the team win. THAT COTTON BOWL will be informative , we can only watch what the Lincoln will come up with to get Miller Moss and the trojans to the trophy stage for another BIG BOWL win.

    1. Coach Riley will be getting TWO QB’s ready for that game, Tim. It sounds like Caleb is determined to play based on his post award comments. Hope his dream comes true [but only if it’s safe for him to be out there —otherwise USC will be playing a lot of dink & dunk football with Moss in the first quarter…before they open things up and let him start bombing Tulane —which he is more than capable of doing]..

  11. Pretty Awesome in just one year… Two guys from Oklahoma come to USC and kick Helton’s JV players off the team. Got a few good portal transfers, coached up the remaining marginal players, win the Heisman and go to the PAC 12 championship game. Caleb is just a true Sophomore. He’s got one more year, maybe two, to leave his mark on the USC Football Program…
Finally, USC Football future looks bright. Look for more portal transfers and strong recruiting classes. Competition among players is on the rise. That’s how you win!! First on the practice field, then on game day.
That’s how it was when I competed and played for John McKay. At practice, you were always challenged everyday during the week. When came to game day, you were confident and played your best. The games were easier than the practices..
