The word I hear around USC is Donte Williams is telling people he is trying to become a head coach.
I’m not sure how he is trying. He wasn’t a serious candidate at UNLV. He hasn’t emerged as a candidate anyhere else.
The job he did in 2021 as interim coach didn’t make him more marketable. Neither has the performance of the corners during any of his first three seasons.
The idea seems to be “well, he can recruit.” O-K.
There might be a better chance he isn’t brought back to USC than he gets a head-coaching job.
He’s probably thinking “If Clay Helton can get a Head Coaching Gig, so can I”. Hard to argue with that Logic.

‘”The word I hear around USC is Donte Williams is telling people he is trying to become a head coach.” Can you be any more vague, Scott? So who is saying that, the night janitor?

Wolf, why do you have to find somebody to pick on? Are you still upset at Enfield for beating Auburn? There has been no mention of the basketball team but now you’ve posted another filler about the cornerbacks coach who has the audacity to want to run his own program. Why don’t you have the same ambition and try to get a newspaper job?

This world,
Why would he try and get a newspaper job when he has us as his readers. LOLOL

Wouldnt Donte need to get a job as a DC first? Either that, or he has to drop way down to a really low level school (maybe high school) to get a head coach job. If he is such a great recruiter, why dont we have higher ranked db’s in this recruiting class? With a great receiver room and QB, every db should consider USC as a place to compete against the best offense. I dont see them coming.
