Clay Helton lost a bowl game?
Buffalo defeated Georgia Southern, 23-21, in the Camelia Bowl. The loss deprived Helton of a winning season as Georgia Southern fell to 6-7.
Somehow, I bet the fans are still fairly happy and much happier than USC fans under Helton.
- Notre Dame just made an upgrade at QB. Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal and is expected to transfer to Notre Dame. Hartman had 35 TD passes with 11 interceptions for Wake Forest in 2022.
- Dominique Onu, who played six games for UCLA women’s basketball this season, has transferred to USC. Transferring from one Crosstown Rival to another is not unusual. Doing it during the season is unusual. Onu averaged 3.0 points per game this season. Last season she averaged 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds.

The safety was a thing of beauty. Much prettier than having his center snap ball outta the endzone….. or patting a player on the back for crawling off the field so slowly we get a ’12 men on the field’ penalty that winds up losing the game for us…. or defending a player for arguing with fans and getting a 15 yard penalty that results in winning score against us….

I have been suggesting since Fickell was hired around thanksgiving. Why not hire Jim Leonard as your DC. Especially with the move to the BIG10 coming up. Consistent top 5 defenses from 2017 on. Wisconsin’s problems were never with the defense. As a former player he would command the respect from guys when they are hearing from a guy who’s been there. Always a sound tackling squad and never burned. Low penalty numbers too. Ah… maybe not… makes too much sense. Why do something that makes sense?
