USC’s National Title Odds For 2023

The national championship will be decided tonight but BetOnline just published its championships odds for next season. USC is 33-1.

“It has never been easy doing look-ahead Championship Odds for College Football, but in today’s college football landscape with the transfer portal and NIL it has become a tremendous challenge to predict how these teams will look at the start of next season. The usual suspects…Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State top the list. Michigan is a distant fourth, and mostly because we have to account for the possibility of Jim Harbaugh leaving for the NFL. I expect a lot of odds movement in the next few weeks and would not be surprised if these odds for many teams move dramatically. One other note, due to the current climate mentioned above, we have less teams than usual in our opening lines. More longshots will be added as the season gets closer.”

    1. Yoooooou’re so full of shit. SUCC’s 33/1 odds must be computed w/o factoring their tendency to choka, choka choke.

With essentially the same team as 2022 So Cal, plus the bozo propensity to choka, choke factored in, SUCC s/b about 500/1 to win the 2023, CFP title.

Cue: The video of C. Williams crying after the bozo Vegas FB debacle.

    2. USC won’t even sniff a PAC 12 championship next season, much less the playoffs 😂😂. Utah, Oregon, and Washington will surely give them a beat down.

    3. I would put it about 1000/1 for UCLA. Of course they will be losing little weepy DTR, so perhaps 950/1. DTR also known as the Interception Machine. His business card is “Have Interception, Will Travel”. Jedd Fisch will be missing him.

I can’t respect a prognosticator who says “less teams than usual” rather than “fewer teams than usual”….

      1. Actually, [although I fucking hate to admit it] the one thing you can say for sure about Owns is that he takes his lumps after a loss — I’ve never heard him cry about officiating [like I do] after his team goes down…

  4. Give me Washington at 66-1. I would bet against Texas and Notre Dame and Clemson at these odds. Would bet on LSU too. Not that I think either Washington or LSU will win, but those are good odds and both of these are excellent programs with great coaches.

USC has the #1 offense in the country (by some measures) and a returning receiver corps and Heisman QB, so the 33-1 odds are a bet that Grinch doesnt get fired and doesnt turn it around.

Would be nice to get Anthony Lucas for the D-line. Feels like we need another 3-4 transfer players on the d and o-line. I guess we learn whether Nua or Hensen can coach this year.

  5. I won’t say these polls mean nothing. It’s just a little early. But I tend to listen to the betting people. They can’t afford to be wrong because they are, in a sense, advising people where to bet their money. If they are wrong too often, nobody will listen to them whereas the ordinary normal football pundant can just support the team that he likes andbad mouth the teams that he doesn’t like.

    1. Parcel, the reason the lines change is because the bettors think the line is screwed up. It isn’t about picking the winner, it is about attracting the same amount of money on both teams. The house doesn’t lose.
Head to head I am taking TCU. Screw the odds.

      1. You may be right. I’m not an authority on betting since I’m not a bettor. I’m just saying that any football pundant can say anything he want, maybe because he just wants to promote his favorite team. But these football betting organization seem to me to be somewhat like financial advisors. If they are wrong all the time, nobody will listen to them anymore.

  6. Alabama and Georgia will need new quarterbacks to lead them but they get the best odds.

USC has the best offense coming back in the nation but has to prove that the o-line has depth and enough experience to last the season

Watch out for Washington who has the best chance to be the best in the Pac 12

Utah didn’t bring in more speed or athletes and Oregon has no first round NFL talent at the skill positions

A true freshman will lead Oregon St to another upset of the ducks next season.
