USC Adds Another Florida Lineman

Ethan White, who started every game at left guard for Florida last season, is transferring to USC.

White will be one of eight new offensive linemen, including transfers and freshmen.

White was a second team pick for the Associated Press All-SEC team. Overall, he has 19 career starts.

He will replace USC left guard Andrew Vorhees.

    1. In the mid 1800s, Hon. Nyrum Reynolds of Wyoming County, New York, sagely observed “…a man must be a damned fool, who can’t spell a word more than one way.” Ed. G., you’re no fool.

    2. Well Ed, we do know which sport this Florida kid play, fortunately for SC it is football, but whether the Trojans are “waystin a skollarchip on him” or not will be decided during the 2023 Season.

  2. If Caleb can stay healthy and SC doesn’t lose a bunch of players on offense via injury, That offense will be #1 in the nation. They were #3 this last year. They’ll be better this year. If they can just get a few more players defensively for depth they will have a great team. Offensively they are loaded. Hopefully they can hold onto JoKobe Lane. That guy is comparable with Duce Robinson(whom I don’t think we will get). Robert Pleasant and Warren Robinson would be nice too.

      1. I’d be surprised if he came to SC. Georgia had 3 great tight ends. One of them chose to go pro. Another one jumped into the transfer portal. That will open up things for him at Georgia

    1. If the defense can get some 3 and outs, that will put the ball back into the hands of the offense, which could push the stats even higher. And the SC offense was off and on during parts of the first half of the season last year.

Maybe Riley wont waste Caleb’s last year. We probably wont know how good this team is until much later in the year.

      1. They need to start working on O-Line play in the spring camp. Getting the O-Line to play as a unit takes time even if you do have stars playing on it. Having 2 cupcakes to start the season will help.

  3. I think we should thank Scott for reporting this. It was not easy for him to do this, what having to report more good news. Clenched jaw, shaking hands. Kudos, Scott!

    1. Based on the number of “Likes” you received SlimSlow
apparently the entire ‘Wolf-Room’ is in agreement with
your Scott Wolf analysis, but I believe Scott is in rehab
trying to break-away from his new positive-outlook style
before it turns into an addiction

  4. Is Wolf finished for the night with his posts?–
Time to wonder How Michael Guarino gets the best of all of us
except for the fact that he is 3-hours ahead of West Coast time
living on Maui as he does, so he gets to digest our “wisdom” for
an extra 3-hours while we contemplate our next move–
That explains why he is Scott Wolf’s favorite “pupil”
and will do anything to keep him in his ‘corner’

      1. Well, if I’m here and your here- does it not make it our time?. Surely there’s nothing wrong with a little pizza on our time…

    1. Nice, Charles. I hear John Milius also wrote this prayer for Lincoln Riley to say before the Notre Dame game: “Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember why we played this game. All that matters is that Caleb and I stood against many. Valor pleases you …so grant my request. Grant USC revenge.”

β€œAlmighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations.”

      1. — And it is a speech perhaps delivered to Both sides,
with the 2 opposing armies each believing God is behind them
Nothing will move a man more than ‘knowing’ God is on his side
–with the usual results of all-out war creating unimaginable devastations

  6. No one takes my ‘sports-takes’ seriously except my wife, Dr. Carol King–
She is so tolerant from birth that she even tolerates me…

Sorry, but the regular NFL season does matter– a little
Home Field usually goes to the ‘Victors’ except if you live in 2023 Buffalo

  7. USC is adding experienced starters from competitive teams. Grinch needs to be more ruthless and realize there are no friendships when it comes to victory. Only believers. At least this group can get stronger in year 2 and will be dominant early in the season. Will they get stronger at the end of the season?
