I’ve talked to Pac-12 coaches about cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace, who transferred from Arizona to USC.
The consensus is Roland-Wallace will be an upgrade over most USC cornerbacks. But they were also clear that he would not be better than Mekhi Blackmon, who was USC’s top cornerback last season.
“They are different players and definitely there is a difference in speed,” one coach said. “He’ll help USC but he won’t be far-and-away best guy like Blackmon was and he won’t be handle the top receivers in the Pac like Blackmon did in so many games.”
Yeah, and Jimmy Stewart talked to Harvey the rabbit.Do you (Scott) expect any coach – real or imagined, to have anything positive to say about USC? You may as well ask Owns.

You can have the 1985 Bears defensive personnel and Grinch will still have them out of place. It is NOT personnel as much it is coaching.

Any other positive news Scotty? Do you really talk to other PAC 12 coaches, or do you just make this stuff up to validate your opinions? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think maybe you need to check with the Washington Post and the New York Times for your answer, Ken…..

No, it is true, Scott does talk to Pac 12 coaches. Just the other day, I saw him with a trench coat on wearing a carnation, sun glasses, and a wide brimmed hat. He said the “The Valley is yonder” and the other chap said “The Moon is a Balloon”. It was hard to make out what was said after that, but I recall overhearing “I have the inside scoop on this Roland-Wallace dude. Got the dough?”

Blackmon was grabby and got burned. Refs gave him leeway based on a made up reputation. Domani Jackson is supposed to be the top cover guy. Pleasant will also be the second choice #1 with Roland Wallace being the Boundary cover guy. Wright and Covington will have to fight for reps which they will earn. Prophet Brown, Jaylin Smith and McCutchin will fight for nickle time. USC played three safeties alot last year which only works if your d-linemen can handle the run or screens near the line of scrimmage. What Mr. Wolf and that cowardly coach doesn’t get is he’s an experienced player who can figure things out and not have a brain fart because the coaches don’t seem to know how to get players to follow the rules of engagement.

Put Domani IN the game next year, allow a ” next man up” approach that Pete Carroll had, and get some damn LINE MEN to play a 4-3-4
THEN KEEP GRINCH ON THE HOT SEAT! USC SHOULD NOT HAVE LOST THE COTTON BOWL BUT GRINCH’S DEFENSE WAS DEFINITELY TULANES “12TH MAN”
