USC Athletic Director Mike Bohn Resigns

In an unexpected move, USC athletic director Mike Bohn abruptly resigned today.

Bohn did not say if he had another job lined up and claimed he left USC on good terms. A source at USC said Bohn has had some health issues but he didn’t know if it played any part in the resignation.

“It’s a great time with USC’s emergence into the Big Ten for new leadership to move the program forward,” Bohn told ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Yeah, right. Bohn had a great job at USC, so he’s either moving to a better position or he got forced out.

Here is the letter sent out by Carol Folt. It sounds like Bohn got forced out.

      1. Your mentor Sam Brinton was just arrested. Will that affect your weekend plans?

  1. Carol said it’s time for a new direction. I did a little digging and found out the im-poster who occasionally posted as Mike Bohn was indeed Mike Bohn and judging by his posts violated the “don’t say gay policy” put in place by the dangerous Florida Governor, who is a good friend of Folt the dolt.

  2. Maybe Bohn wanted to fire that idiot Alex Grinch and ‘Ol Mule Shoe threatened to quit if they fired his boyfriend and Bohn said, “I’m out of here”.

  3. Good. Bohn sucked. Kept Clay Helton for 2 years too many and kept and gave Enfield a stupid extension that keeps him through like ‘26.

  4. I can honestly say that reading this post was a complete failure to connect with reality. Not everything has a conspiracy behind it. It’s the AD. He did his job by making sure Riley is the head coach. Stop acting like little people with only bad things to quibble about. A tempest in a teapot. Scott, your getting worse and soon you’ll be at douche-bag level. Leave the speculations to the peanut gallery.

      1. MG, I think that Clown U should offer the AD position to Marjorie Taylor Greene. Talk about Fight On and her ridiculous clueless verbal hyperbole, she’ll fit right in at SUCC…the head rah-rah, as it were

Think of the conspiracy theories she might launch when bozo FB snatches defeat from the jaws of near victory She’s been whining lately that she doesn’t make enough coin as a member of the HofR’s.

And MG, have St. Pat negotiate the MTG contract in a decent bar in So Gate.

  5. Jim Brown was 6’2, 232 pounds as a running back, bigger than most linemen in his day, so he had that advantage and hence was not the greatest NFL player although he certainly could play today.

‘Bone’ is a curious matter, why quit immediately unless he was diagnosed with a crippling cancer or is being forced out. I doubt he would have moved from SC to a “better job.” ‘Without-a-Folt’ had a curt comment, stating “…we conducted a thorough review of the athletics department…now is the time for a new direction grounded in our values.” What did she find after her “review” that Bone was not up to snuff?– That doesn’t seem likely

Perhaps Bone had had it working for Madam Ego, but that would not account for his immediate departure. Sounds like something is up, and we probably will never know the truth

    1. I think this is one of those things where we will know the truth, John… I think Scott senses something funny already….

    2. I just hope that they didn’t fire him because he’s not the easiest guy in the world to get along with(as some people are saying). Great people are not always the easiest people in the world to get along with. Just watch Nick Saban on the sidelines sometime.
I just hope that it’s not the administration(the Board of Trustees and all the elite educational professors)who don’t ever want to have a great football team and who have been on Bohns case since he got here because he has made a lot of tough decisions(that had to be made).
I’ve heard some comments by some of these USC football pundants(not sure if they are true) that said that Bohn has been fighting with all the educational elites since he got here trying to change the culture(not on the team but among the elites who hate football because the people in the football program make far more than they do).

  6. For the first time in a long time we had an AD that didn’t royally F things up. That alone is something to celebrate. We can definitely find someone better, but the fact the he leaves without any huge black marks on his resume (TBD) means he’ll stay in my good graces. As if that matters to anyone.

    1. None of our opinions matter. That’s why I laugh at my buddy pointing out that my posts often don’t get responses. Many posts don’t get responses and no one cares. It’s not a contest.

It certainly doesn’t hurt to throw in your two cents. Have a great weekend and let’s hope his replacement is an upgrade. FTFO!!

  7. Mike Bohn did a wonderful job – sorry to see him choose to leave. I do believe it was health related because Foyt selected him and he’d performed way past what any of us thought possible – sadly he shall be missed.

Wonder if Rich McKay would be interested?

    1. I’d love to see Pete Carroll but he’s got a job. But now would be the perfect time for Pete to quit Seattle leaving the Seahawks plenty of time to find another coach. He’s getting too old to coach but not too old to be an AD.

  8. How long until Riley leaves? She wants to create Woke U West. I seriously doubt that football will exist for long under Folt.

I havent loved Bohn-head, but Folt is 100X worse.
