Lincoln Riley Didn’t Like His Parking Spot At USC So He Got Upgrade

I’ve written before about how Lincoln Riley has a personal driver.

But in this excerpt of his interview with Graham Bensinger, he talked about how he didn’t like his parking spot at USC, because it was five minutes from the McKay Center.

Riley: “That’s 10 minutes a day (to and from the car). All right, that’s over an hour a week. That’s over 50 hours a year that I’m simply just walking back and forth to my car, not to mention if you go back multiple times in a day for whatever. I’m either wasting that time where I could be with my family or I could be doing something to help us win.’ And he’s like, ‘All right, well, when you put it that way, it makes some sense.’ So now, my walk is like 15 seconds, so we improved the math there.”

Riley also talks about how he has a driver. If he has a driver, doesn’t he drop Riley off in front of the McKay Center. So how often did he make that grueling five-minute walk?

The bottom line is Riley gets whatever he wants. Like the new football building he is pushing for.

  1. I have a place in Chinatown so I am 12 minutes from work versus
    1-hour from another home in West Los Angeles.
    But saving 5-minutes for Wiley is a different story

    1. Good point, he bought his $17 million mansion 20 miles away in Rancho Palos Verdes. Why didn’t Lincoln Riley buy a luxury condo close to USC to stay at to save all that time driving over 30 minutes one way back and forth? There’s your waste of 5 hours a week, 20 hours a month, 240 hours a year.

  3. LR is the kind of a guy who doesn’t want to waste a minute. That’s why he doesn’t want to waste 5 minutes walking to his office from his parking space and that’s why he has a professional driver drive him to work. Instead of wasting 2 1/2 to 3 hours driving to work and back each day, he sits in the back of that car and works. He’s a really hard worker. It’s like Denzel Washington says…..”hard work works…..it’s what successful people do!!”

    This comment can be looked at in a couple of different ways. One is that he is self centered and a diva or he wants to save time. If he is a diva, then put his parking spot right in McKay Center. If he wants to save time, then move into San Marino. Drive is about an half an hour away from SC. Palos Verdes is an hour at least. There is your 30 minutes of gaining time.

    2. The San Marino to USC drive is now close to an hour. Coach O lived at the USC Hotel to save time. His wife and kids stayed in Louisiana and predictably he is no longer married to that wife. He got a newer model.
