Notes: USC Drops In One Poll

USC dropped to No. 28 in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report National College Rankings after being No. 25 in 2023.

USC is now tied with UC Davis, UC San Diego, and Florida.

U.S. News implemented a new ranking system this year that it labeled the “most significant methodological change in the ranking’s history” after a revolt by some colleges, mostly graduate schools.

The new system has more than half its rankings determined by “enrolling students from all backgrounds with manageable debt and post graduate success.” Class size, alumni giving, high school class standing and other factors were removed.

  • Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham said test “results were better than expected” for injured quarterbacks Trenton Bourguet (ankle) and Drew Pyne (leg muscle). Their status remains unknown for the USC game.
  • Colorado football has 871,000 followers on Instagram. USC football has 219,000 followers.

But Swalwell was doing a Chinese spy, Christine Fang, and Pelosi appointed him to the house intelligence committee. And Feinstein, the head of the senate intelligence committee, had a Chinese spy as a driver for 20 years and maintained her position. Of course the ultimate was probably Ted Kennedy who drove off a bridge while drunk and killed his pregnant female passenger by swimming away while she was trapped in the car and drown. He failed to report the incident until the next day. Anyone else would be serving at least 10 years in jail. Kennedy ran in the Democratic Presidential primary about 10 years later and almost won.

    and yet is spending $7-trillion each year.
    I have read that if the entitlement programs are included such as medicare and social security the U.S. is $63-trillion in the hole

    What that means long-term I am not sure. Will China stop selling to America if the U.S. can only pay half-price?

      The smartest thing we could do in my opinion: cancel the debt to China. We’re instantly a couple trillion richer.
      Critics say ‘you can’t do that — no one would buy our debt, no one would buy our bonds.” Oh, really? Japan and the United Kingdom [to whom we owe the most] are really gonna say “crap, if we release a plague America will bail out on us too?’ I think every country in the world would applaud us for cancelling the debt to China.
      As for the “entitlement programs, Medicare and Social Security, Americans paid into those programs —there are constitutional arguments against the government abrogating it’s own contract.
      Illegals aren’t paying into the programs financing their housing and medical. New Yorkers tell us every day about the stress this is placing on their city’s habitability.

That potentially destroys the rationale behind your China debt cancellation policy. He then opened the border by canceling the stay in Mexico policy via executive order. A few weeks ago, Biden started selling off the materials to build the border wall at pennies to a dollar. And as you pointed out billions are being spent to feed, house, clothe, educate, and provide medical services to unvetted illegals and many of them are taking jobs away from Americans. A few questions:

        Why was the investigation into Covid origins stopped? How does that serve the interests of our country? My guess is that the great majority of Americans would disagree with this policy.

        Why did the Biden administration open the border? How is that good for the country? I suspect that 90% of Americans including those in blue states disapprove of this policy.

        Why are illegals entitled to all these benefits that many Americans do not enjoy including free housing and health care? Again, most Americans do not agree with this policy including those residing in blue states.

        How can anyone say that we are a representative democracy when our elected officials make substantive decisions that the vast majority of people in both parties disapprove of. And some of these, such as the student loan debt cancellation, is done without congressional approval and therefor illegal.

    1. I’m happy to acknowledge how many good people are left of center — although there certainly was a time within memory when there were a great many more. I don’t say that out of fanaticism –I say it cuz it’s patently obvious. Virtually no position being assumed by the far left of 2023 is one embraced by President Obama when he left office, particularly the concept of open borders.
      I stood up in court many times to take the side of a defendant when a public defender wasn’t providing proper sentencing guidance [and earned the ire of the judge for doing so] and I’ve supported many liberal causes and candidates over the years…but… what I see happening today is destructive on every constitutional level [deprivation of due process for political prisoners, limitations on freedom of speech and assembly, misuse of public funds for political purposes] …so I think it’s okay, even necessary, to speak out. But I agree with you, John, we need to do it more or less respectfully…

  26. Here we go with this political bs opinions. First of all During Trump time in WH what legislation did he get through? A bill for wealthy people to pay less taxes 2. Appointing 200 + federal judges, and everything else to obstruct the Dems from passing bi partisan bills that will help everyone who’s not rich. What are Repubs doing right now OBSTRUCT DENY AND LIE ABOUT HOW BIDEN IS CORRUPT AND SENILE On both sides they have Politicians who are over the age limit to be coherent I agree with the main stream voters. Red states are making laws to effect how people vote n if they qualify to vote? Remember Biden can only control so much of what Congress allows him to do.
