USC Rolls To NCAA Victory

JuJu Watkins scored 23 points while McKenzie Forbes, Kayla Padilla and Raya Marshall added 10 points each as USC cruised to an 87-55 victory at the Galen Center in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

USC will play Kansas on Monday night at 7 p.m. PDT in the Galen Center. The game will be on ESPN.

The attendance was 8,386.

Watkins was 8 of 18 from the floor and 1 of 6 from 3-point range. She also had five rebounds, four assists, four blocks and two steals.

  • USC lost to UCLA, 7-6, at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Saturday. The teams play again Sunday at 2 p.m. in Westwood.

  1. FORBES HAD 23 PTS, the same as Ju Ju. Watkins has lost her outside shooting touch going another dismal 1-6 from 3 pt. range. Team looked sloppy vs. a # 16 seed. Can you see them beating Baylor or Va. Tech if they do get by Kansas. It is in the hands of Forbes now to take control of the games. ________________________________

  2. We attended an event in PT’s hood today, we missed the game. We figured they would cruise through it anyway. Let’s see how they do Monday, because they often didn’t play as well in their second game of the week as they did in the first.

UCLA Head Football Coach, DeShaun Foster, was asked by a fan yesterday if he was worried about USC becoming a powerhouse again in 2024. He assured the young woman this wouldn’t happen: “We will prevent USC from doing that…legally. We’ll find legal ways of preventing them from playing games. It’ll be completely constitutional — we’ll tie them up in court so they can’t compete on the field. No joke, man…..excuse me, I meant gal….no, I mean person!”
