USC Notes: It’s Officially Harder Than Ever To Get Admitted

It’s official: USC’s acceptance rate for the 2023-2024 was 9.2 percent. USC accepted 7,550 potential students out of more than 82,000 applicants. Acceptance letters were sent out Friday.

It’s a record low for USC. Remember, in 1974 the freshmen acceptance rate for high school seniors at USC was 93 percent.

  • Former USC basketball player Tre White has entered the transfer portal. He spent this season at Louisville. So it will be three schools in three years. Isn’t college sports great?
  • USC baseball got back on track with a 10-1 victory over Fresno State. Don’t ask where the game was.
  • USC has named Franita Tolson the Gould School of Law’s dean. She is the first African-American dean and second woman to hold the position in the law school’s history. She has been the interim dean of the law school since July.
  • USC is a 3.5-point favorite over Baylor in the NCAA Tournament per BetOnline.
  • Watch this video at your own peril. My favorite line is when Jen Cohen says “America is in love with this team.” Why not the world?

    1. How many Red Chinese students are at USC?
In the 2019/2020 academic year, the University of Southern California hosted the most Chinese students (5,455) among U.S. institutions… imagine how many more are getting admitted over qualified Americans this year!

      2. This is a serious matter that I cannot find a joke for– With all the possible applicants in which to choose from why this over abundance of mainland Chinese?– Is it so SC can teach them how to hack and pehaps disassemble the U.S.’s power grid?

  1. Agree Grabbbyy. Sadly, a lower acceptance rate does not translate to better qualified incoming students. When the Supreme Court recently held that Universities could not engage in reverse discrimination against Asian students who had SAT test scores that were markedly superior to Blacks that were being accepted over them under the guise of campus diversity, the Universities including USC changed the admittance criteria. They did this to get around the law. Incoming students are no longer required to submit test scores. Overcoming obstacles in life as set forth in essays is now emphasized over the ability to excel at math and reading comprehension in standardized tests. God help us. China and India embrace the “best and the brightest” and emphasize degrees in computer science, engineering, biological research, chemistry and mathematics while we welcome mediocre DEI students who major in ethnic and women studies. Who do you think is going to win the future?

    1. The coaches. Why do you think they change the admission standards to let in inferior students? So they can make more money for the school. If superior students is what you want then USC should drop out of Div. 1 football and compete against the Ivy League.

And no one would watch them on TV.

    2. If you keep the criteria too high, then you can’t admit Bear Alexander into USC or Caleb Williams. You want high profile athletes to compete for California schools? Then lower your standards like the other hypocrite schools and let it flow like the border.

      1. I do like the high standards of SC and, you’re right, they do have high standards. But I really believe the standards are too high. There was absolutely no reason to kick out Boormeister out of school when he was 3 units away from graduating USC. Him and his girlfriend did nothing wrong. They both testified to that and both sued USC in separate lawsuits and won. I want them to have high standards but not so high that they can’t compete. You have 40 schools who have offered this kid and, to my knowledge, not one has backed off of him.

      2. They have a word for that. It’s called “diversity”. “Diversity” is sometimes a synonym for descrimination. But that is not just in football. How many male white 4.0 students have the colleges skipped over to put a 2.0 black, hispanic, non-white women, transgenders, gays into law school, dental school, business school, med school and even flight schools and all the other post graduate schools. Welcome to the New World Order.

The data shows that ideology, race and gender are all statistically significant predictors of self-reported mental health, with liberals having the worst self-reported mental health compared to moderates and conservatives, and women having worse self-reported mental health than men. What’s more, the interaction between race, ideology, and gender is statistically significant — with liberal white and non-white women having the worst self-reported mental health.

I think that I might go a wie bit further than that. Liberals are whackos, one brick short of a full load, ready for the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time.

You think I’m joking? I assure you that I’m not. When they start saying things like “a man can have a baby and you can be a boy today and a girl tommorow and there are not 2 genders but 50-100”, it’s time to reserve them a room where the ceiling, floor and all of the walls are overlaid with rubber.

    2. Gavin Newsome wants California to be a state where only 2% of the state can drive cars(the filthy rich). The rest of us can take a bus, ride bikes or walk. Cars are only for the rich liberal elites.

They also want to ban meat(Bill Gates has predicted that will happen). But don’t worry. They’ll have a meat substitute made of bugs. Somehow I don’t think ole Bill is going to give up his T-Bones when those laws go into effect.

All private ownership will cease to exist. No more homes. You’ll live in a high rise 200 sq. foot apartment. Remember the commercial that was put on TV a couple of years ago by the World Economic Forum where the guy said “you will own nothing and be happy”. You can still see that one on you tube. There was also another one by the WEF where a woman says “I own nothing and have no privacy and things couldn’t be better”. I think they have scrubbed that one one. I don’t think you can get it anymore but I could be wrong.

Why can’t you think for yourself for once in your long waste of life?
“When the U.S. Supreme Court intervened in Florida’s recount after the 2000 presidential election, Justice John Paul Stevens noted the Hawaii example in his dissent. “In 1960,” Stevens wrote, “Hawaii appointed two slates of electors and Congress chose to count the one appointed on January 4, 1961, well after the Title 3 deadlines.” That precedent, he argued, showed that “nothing prevents the majority, even if it properly found an equal protection violation, from ordering relief appropriate to remedy that violation without depriving Florida voters of their right to have their votes counted.”

The day after the Court’s decision in Bush v. Gore, Rep. Patsy Mink (D–Hawaii) criticized the ruling on similar grounds, arguing that “the [Hawaii] precedent of 40 years ago suggests the means for resolving the electoral dispute in Florida.” She said “both slates of electors” could “meet on December 18 and send their certificates to Congress,” after which Florida’s governor could send Congress “a subsequent certificate of election” based on the recount.

In an essay published a week and a half before the 2020 presidential election, legal scholar Michael L. Rosin and civil rights lawyer Jason Harrow similarly argued that what happened in Hawaii “should serve as a model for a close election this year or in any year.” They agreed with Jamieson that the Democratic slate’s December 19 meeting was crucial: “Fortunately, because both slates of electors had voted on the proper day, there was still a chance to tell Congress which slate was actually appointed by the voters.””

      2. Dear Gabby,

Do you know how many election fraud cases have been filed in Los Angeles? Zero. Do you know many campaign contribution violations have been filed? Zero. When you go to the Annotated L. A. Municipal Code do you know how many cases you’ll find for election-related offenses? Zero.

If you look in the Annotated California Penal Code you’ll find about 9000 cases on Petty Theft, 10,000 on Prostitution, 50,000 on Drunk Driving….

No one even knows what the Intent Requirement is in Election Fraud cases [specific intent? general intent?] cuz there aren’t any cases to guide you….

The dearth of cases doesn’t mean everything in L. A. is on the up & up… It’s more like what got said to Elliot Ness in “The Untouchables” —“If you open up that door you’re in for a world of hurt — are you prepared for that?” In Los Angeles prosecutors answer that question with a “no, thank you…”

      5. The documentaries by Michael Lindel, Dinesh D’Sousa and another one I seen lately were very revealing. But even if I had never seen those documentaries I would have my questions.

Donald Trump is running and everywhere he speaks thousands come to hear him. He goes to sports events and when his name is announced the crowd starts to cheer wildly. Many times the athletes come over and want to shake his hand(like in his attendance at cage fighting events).

Joe Biden hides in his cellar and when he speaks you can count the people who come on your right hand….when he or his wife attend a sporting event, they boo loudly or they start chanting “let’s go brandon” and then when the election comes, more people vote for Biden than any other candidate in the history of america. I’m not buying it.
