Breaking: USC Cancels Main Graduation Ceremony

USC announced today it will not hold the main graduation ceremony, which brings as many as 65,000 students, families and friends to campus.

“We understand that this is disappointing; however, we are adding many new activities and celebrations to make this commencement academically meaningful, memorable, and uniquely USC, including places to gather with family, friends, faculty, and staff, the celebratory releasing of the doves, and performances by the Trojan Marching Band.”

REACTION: This is outrageous for the seniors who looked forward to the traditional graduation ceremony and will definitely be part of Carol Folt’s legacy at USC.

And if you wonder why USC did it, I’ll give you a big reason: Folt would be booed when she stepped to the podium.

The administration has completely botched this whole situation. If USC had not banned the valedictorian from speaking, what would happen? Some small pockets of protestors? Little to no media coverage of it all.

Instead, USC created a national controversy and now is robbing the seniors — who paid hundreds of thousnds in tuition and fees — of a highlight of their college career.

This is a complete own goal by USC.

  1. Graduation is not the “highlight of a college career,” my seatmate John Kruso fell asleep next to me. A better “highlight” was OJ’s 64-yarder to sink Yucla

    1. blame conservatives who boast about protecting the US from radicalism but when push comes to shove, they cower because some brainwashed kid or college professor will call them a name. Leftists are clear on their objectives, but righty’s are the ultimate clowns that do zero to save this free country. Yes, leftists nazis will bus in soros soldiers but let it happen. Perhaps these college kids will witness it and reconsider the hate they’ve been taught for four years.

  2. I always thought Stump had more to worry about with the Stormy Trial than the others. He was not president with the Stormy payouts so he cannot assert ‘presidential immunity’ even if he “wins” the Supreme Court presidential immunity case

This sounds like the word salad that went out when Folt decided that the local alumni groups couldn’t be trusted and therefore had to be abolished.

  4. I don’t care for Folt, but this is directly on the pro Hamas supporters. I fully support the cancellation of this event, and I believe she put everyone’s safety first. Good move.

      1. I agree, and it’s happening right now. My hope is that the ISD completes its mission before our country gets sucked into this Hamas-caused mess.

  5. I don’t care for Folt, but this move is directly on the shoulders of the ignorant doofs who want to support Hamas. Folt’s first responsibility is the safety of all students, and this assures no one will get hurt during graduation. I support the cancellation, and I hope other campuses follow along.

  6. There’s absolutely NOTHING cool about crazy non students invading our campus and disrupting the student life. I don’t care what you have to say politically, but it’s not right to create a spectacle of asinine behavior. It’s terrible that people who are not students professionally orchestrate this type of conduct in order to undermine the experience of our students

    1. Public Statement by Carol Folt:

“Occasionally, extremely unpleasant people will invade your life….or burn down your city …. or desecrate public monuments….or block student events…. I’ve made a career of bending over and taking it up the ass whenever this occurs….”

    2. Agree Marv. This was not a student lead demonstration. There is an organized network of professional leftist demonstrators who quickly converge on an area and bring chaos and destruction. They are not students and have no real interest in the Israeli retaliation against Hamas. The target is the United States. Think Antifa.

  7. Folt lost control of the political/social situation at USC. She’s not afraid of being booed, USC is rightfully concerned about outside forces converging on USC as they did on Wednesday. But it all could’ve largely been prevented if not for Folt and USC embracing the radical Left and their Cultural Marxism tactics.

  8. Shades of Bush failing to pay off Lake when doing so would have saved SC football from a decade of mediocrity, but Stump failed to pay Pecker for the McDougal ‘kill job’ and so Stump’s lawyer Cohen had to handle the Stormy payment resulting in this Trial

  9. Clowns. This blog is run by a clown. USC is run by clowns. Anyone who cares about USC should call the university and demand they stop capitulating to terrorists and insist on the Govenor to offer assistance in the form of the National Guard and the CHP. There is a right way to protest and a wrong way to protest. Carol Folt and the University Regents need to reestablish order and demand respect for the rule of law.

This Israel-Palestine issue is so packed with venom that if anyone criticizes Israel’s war actions he will be labeled an anti-semite when in fact he is simply anti-War

  11. Way to go Celeb, but you are not quite Mahones yet although it appears you lucked out with a team that gets the No. 1 pick and yet seems pretty efficient on the offensive side of the ball. Good luck, but you are SC history now and all I care about is how ‘Most’ aka Moss will do

  12. Celeb might already be calling the Bears’ shots with the pick of wideout Rome Odunze from Washington who was one of the hopeful picks for Celeb

And in case there were any doubters out there it is a quarterbacks’ league with 6 of the first 12 picks QBs
