The Show Must Go On

The USC women’s basketball celebration Sunday apparently didn’t draw much of a crowd. It got moved from the Town and Gown building on campus to a smaller, non-descript meeting room at the USC Hotel across the street. Oh, and now it’s been termed a “banquet.” Blame it on the protestors. If It’s Monday, There’s Still Campus News

Remember, USC used to routinely hold graduation at the Coliseum. This was in 1950 (a rare color photo from the time). The USC director of media relations who acted shamefully Sunday morning and tried to cover her identity badge when asked questions by student reporters has shut down her Linkedin account. USC has suspended at least 13 protestors. This is interesting because the students who … Continue reading If It’s Monday, There’s Still Campus News

Morning Buzz: Interesting Lineman Visits USC

In football news, Texas A&M center Bryce Foster visited USC this weekend. This is interesting because USC moved its best lineman, Jonah Monheim, to center for spring practice. Foster started 28 games at Texas A&M, so you can read what you want into this. For all the talk from Carol Folt about campus safety, the USC women’s tennis team played its NCAA playoff match on … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Interesting Lineman Visits USC

Encampment Saga Ends Peacefully

Carol Folt has just patted herself on the back in an official statement on the removal of the encampment at Alumni Park. After LAPD arrived to clear the park, it ended early Sunday morning with no arrests and students leaving peacefully. It underscored (again) that USC really didn’t need to cancel the main graduation because unlike UCLA, it can pretty easily contain the entrances to … Continue reading Encampment Saga Ends Peacefully

Saturday Notes: USC In Beach Volleyball Final Vs. UCLA

It seems only a matter of time before Carol Folt clears Alumni Park of protestors. Folt sent out this statement: “Every part of our campuses, including Alumni Park, must be fully accessible.” Students hung a banner from Doheny Library this morning. Wire fences were installed between the library and Alumni Park, where the protestors are staying. USC and UCLA will meet tomorrow at 8 am … Continue reading Saturday Notes: USC In Beach Volleyball Final Vs. UCLA
