A Setback In Paris

It was a disastrous Olympics for former USC track star Michael Norman, who finished eighth in the final of the 400 meters in Paris. Norman was considered a gold-medal contender.

USC overall has had a quiet Olympics overall but there are still some medal opportunities, notably Rai Benjamin in the 400 hurdles.

On the other hand, Marko Vavic of USC scored the game-winning penalty shot as the USA defeated Australia, 11-10 in the semifinals.

  1. Scooter,

Not only Vavic go to SC, he also went to Loyola High in L.A. Go Cubs.

I was looking at the men’s water polo roster and they had a guy from Cal and Staford, two from ugly and about 4-5 from SC. All of them have played for the college water polo national championship except for the one ruin who will be a freshman this year.

  2. –Just watched the Men’s 400-Meters race with the first 5 finishers less than one-second apart. Talk about thin margins
