USC Needs A Culture Reset

I said this morning the fact TCU had two star players play in the Alamo Bowl while a host of USC players opted out showed a difference in the culture of the programs.

Today, former USC player Marvin Powell III made this comment.

“As a culture, as a team, we are much further behind than I thought we were.”

Powell is the son of former USC All-American Marvin Powell, who is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

  1. Scott: Did Husan Longstreet suit up for the game? Did he practice? Is he going to enter the portal? I am assuming Alani Noa is gone. Looks like Joey Olsen as well. We are going to need a few tight ends.

  2. LR was supposed to take us to the “promised land” with teams that were have not been physical and never had a strong defense or a good offensive line. When USC going to ante up and send LR packing?

    1. There were only a handful of coaches with 10 year contracts when we got Riley. That was such a dumb move and I hope schools learn from this. 5 maybe 6 years should be it. If they refuse?

      1. I agree. Why would you give a coach who has NEVER won a championship a 10 year very lucrative contract? Why don’t the contracts have performance clauses?

  3. The first step in solving a problem is admitting that you have a problem. CLR doesn’t think that USC football has a problem so don’t expect any major changes with the culture of the USC program. Along with that, when something goes wrong CLR has a litany of ready made excuses que’d up to give to the media. We fans are going to have to sit here and deal with it until the end of next year when USC doesn’t make the CFP again, and he is hopefully shown the door.

  4. The World is not coming to an end because USC finished 9 and 4.

Enough, we have limited years on this planet, enjoy life and stop worrying about USC football which is out of our control.
