Lincoln Riley is finally going to hire a veteran special teams coach . . . after four years.
Mike Ekeler, who was USC’s linebackers coach in 2013, is being hired from Nebraska to coach special teams according to CBS Sports.
Before Nebraska, Ekeler was outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Tennessee.
So this should be a step up for the special teams. Hopefully for USC’s sake.
KAM: Sure , Riley Coyote “hired” him.
DON: AD Taco Lita Jen had nothing to do with it,,, wink wink!

wolfman, I’m sure you agree that the only shocker in the new point shaving scandal is that no Southern Cal players were named! I mean the school that hatch ed snaled like OJ and Mr Teggie would seem the likely recruiting ground for the gamblers! Score one for Muscle-Man!

Charlie,
That is the kettle calling it black. The greatest cheater of all time, the great Johhny Cheetin’ Wooden’s name should be on that list. Yet, people honor him for his cheating

Marcus Freeman was just quoted in an interview as admitting that he lied when he said the ND would play USC anywhere on any date. When USC called his bluff and said that they wanted to play the game at ND as the first or second game of the season and not in the October, the middle of USC’s conference season, the powers that be at ND said no because it was to their advantage to play the game in October because USC would have to make another midwest trip after traveling to Penn State and Indiana. Why has Scott not reported on this ND lie. Could it be that he is only concerned about his anti-USC narrative. ND wants what’s best for them like not joining the Big Ten and playing an equally tough schedule as USC and sharing the conference and playoff money. Why the major conferences let ND get away with this money grabbing independence is beyond me. ND needs us more than we need them; so let them come begging back to us. Fight on. Dan, Class of 1962

This comment is directed at Jazzy, who i understand is an avid reader of wolfman’s blog: Listen, kid, you got to transfer to UCLA next season. you are throwing your career away at the weirdly draped Gayylen Center! UCLA has the coach and they are improving every year! the portal is open till Jan 18th i believe so perhaps a mid-season transfer is possible with SC’s acquiescence. we justy got in a boatload of cash to spice up the deal, if you know what i mean!

How about doing the opposite and we start poaching players from UCLA. I hope that Juju has a great big NIL contract because we need her teaming with Jazzy. Her injury in the playoffs was devastating. Don’t forget that we beat UConn with her last year. The base salary in the WNBA is so low, that NIL pays so much better for great players to stay in college for four years. Great time to be a college athlete in all sports.
Fortunately or unfortunately money talks. Look at the Dodgers signing Kyle Tucker. Dodgers are one Bo Bichette away from having an all star lineup. The 2026 and 2027 all star games are going to be played between an mlb combined all star team versus the Dodgers.
