USC’s Board of Trustees selected Beong-Soo Kim to become permanent president. He has been the interim president.
The selection of Kim was fairly easy: He’s been a popular figure on campus in contrast to his two predecessors (Max Nikias, Carol Folt) and known as a people person despite inheriting some awful financial predicaments from Folt.
He also received a hearty endorsement from Jen Cohen, which hopefully does not mean he will allow the Notre Dame series to wither away.
It should also be said there wasn’t a huge pool of candidates who were eager to follow Folt. Few want to deal with that fallout.
This is a solid choice.
Maybe he can teach some people skills to CLR.
Wonder if BOT buys him a home in Hidden Hills.

Whew, good to know. I thought that you might have been referring to Trader Joe’s. NYU and USC are the only universities with an embedded Trader Joe’s store. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
