USC Notes: An Improvised Athletic Event

USC had its alumni baseball game last weekend.

The stands at the new Dedeaux Field did not yet pass inspection, so the boosters who came for the alumni game had to sit down in the bullpen with the porta-potties away from everything.

Among those who showed up to festivities the night before were Lars Nootbar, Mark McGwire and Bret Boone.

  • USC guard Chad Baker-Mazara is out for today’s gme at Ohio State.
  • I’ve been looking for pictures from this game for a long time and finally found some, which I will write about in tomorrow’s history column.

  1. Any true Trojan baseball fan would sit anywhere, even in the bullpen by the port o potties, to support our eleven time national champion baseball team. Just glad that they are back playing on their home field. My good friend Chuck who graduated in 1958 helped to start the first USC baseball booster club…Chuck passed away about 20 years ago, but I bet that he is still rooting for his Trojans. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
