Rob Ryan is in fact coaching at spring practices, which means USC does have three linebacker coaches.
No pun intended but this is a bloated coaching staff.
Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will be paid $3.75 million in 2026, making him the highest-paid assistant in the country. I still think USC might have the most expensive staff with all the deadwood getting paid sizeable salaries.
- Lincoln Riley did not speak to the media today at spring practice. He usually talks on Tuesday.
- USC held a physical practice at the Coliseum on Saturday. I mention this because it’s basically something that could also be held at the end of spring with fans, if Riley wanted to do it.
The idea that it would cost him a practice to do it is non-sense.
wolfman, all these coaches, all these players coming in, millions in salaries and NIL cash….but no Spring Game?

Is each linebacker assigned his own coach. Kind of like a personal trainer at the gym.

That individual cheerleader thing could help recruiting.

I like the idea of cheereader [sorta like a tutor in theater arts] …but I meant cheerleader….

Scott, you are beating a dead horse and thank goodness it isn’t Traveler. You wanted a special teams coach, and now LR has one who can also coach linebackers. If you were the head coach, what would be the size of your ideal staff and for what positions. Be specific because we know that you have an expertise from watching so many spring games throughout the years. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

Couldn’t agree more ambitious….Riley’s no fool….he knows it’s ‘..all in…’ this year win or leave and leave with 5 recorded years of failing to produce if the same outcome as the past 4 years is the result.
I see a great year ahead and I see chaos for a lot of other programs as well as some serious ‘trap’ games esp for ‘the princess’, ‘IN’ and ‘OR’…..

KAM: RIP Jets fullback Matt Snell.
DON: As of 2026, there are seven fullbacks enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Snell should be the 8th.

KAM: Friday the 13th came early in the sports world:
USA Manager Mark ReRosa could go down as an all-time incompetent. He said prior to the game vs. Italy that they had already advanced to quarterfinals. They hadn’t. They lost.
DON: Now eliminated if Mexico def. Italy today and scores 4 runs or less.

KAM: Then the Ravens blow up the Max Crosby trade.
DON:This puts the Raiders in an incredibly difficult situation. They lose the picks, they have a bunch of deals to be finalized tomorrow done under the assumption Maxx Crosby was gone, and now they may have to turn around and trade him again with the medical question hovering.

KAM: Then the Bam Adebayo travesty: The Miami Heat intentionally foul a team that was down 40 points to get Bam more opportunities for a mediocrity named Bam to score 83 points. That was disgusting.
DON: This was the most unethical stat padding record I’ve see in my life by BAM and the Miami Heat. 43 free throws attempts on a 27 point blowout is pathetic!
