Pete Carroll Will Be Hanging Around USC In Fall

Pete Carroll said in an interview with 247 that he intends to teach a class at USC for the fall semester.

“I’m done coaching,” Carroll said. “I’m looking forward to the class we’ll do at USC in the fall. I’m finished (coaching). I should have done it the year before.

“Unfortunately, I had to wind up as the oldest coach in the history of the NFL. That’s not something I’m real proud of. That’s not one of my favorite stats.”

  1. Man I really doubt he’s done coaching…..that’s all he knows and why back here? He’d be far wiser to move on with being one of only 3 coaches to have won a college football Ntl Champ and a Super Bowl.

    2. KAM: Carrot called incorrect plays in 2 games, or else he would have won 3 straight national championships and 2 Super Bowls

      DON: Imagine a Playoffs System in place in the early 2000s. SC would have been favored from 2002-2008, an unheard of 7-years

  4. Scott, this is great news and thanks for the reporting. Uncle Pete is a coach in a million, and having him be on campus and teach is outstanding. Anytime recruits, sponsors or ordinary students can meet a living legend, it is a program blessing. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

  10. DON: –You wonder about this divide between SC and Notre Dame and whether the differences can be bridged. SC does not want its Big-10 schedule interfered with by a Notre Dame game in October and wants it played early in the season during the non-conference games

    KAM: The Trojan and Irish powers-that-be could not come to an agreement last year, suspending the 100-year old rivalry. It seemed ok for both sides to keep the November game in Los Angeles, but the October game at Notre Dame would have to be moved to September, SC insisted. But no game

  11. I like having Pete Carroll back on campus. If anything, it keeps a sword at paranoid LR’s back, to buttress the internal Gary Patterson takeover threat, whether perceived or real makes no difference. It is great if LR feels the walls closing in, because for mishandling the HC role at USC in so many ways the past 4 years, this pressure on him to deliver immediately and now this season is exactly what is needed and long overdue.
