USC Names Pat Haden Honorary Trustee

Pat Haden has been named an honorary trustee to the USC board of trustees.

He was a member of the Board of Trustees before he became athletic director.

Among the current honorary trustees is Jeanie Buss.

What does an honorary trustee do? Who knows?

But I’m guessing they don’t come on campus too often because I don’t think Haden has visited since he resigned as athletic director.

  1. I’m glad Pat received this honorary position. He deserves to go out on a better note than the one on which he left.

We all have done something we’d wish we hadn’t but frankly Haden would be better served declining this and moving on….that was a long long time (17 years per LA Times) he was in control of the George Mayr Foundation …..bad enough his sister-in-law and daughter being paid for doing ‘what?’ but he himself too.

      If this hadn’t been uncovered nothing would have changed …he’d still be in control there….still collecting his renumeration for ‘annual minor expenses’.

  3. Ah, so “Small Hands” Haden must have paid back the $2.4 million he and his tribe looted from the Mayr charitable Foundation!! Bravo, Pat, it takes a big man to quietly make things right after he was so publicly busted stuffing his pockets with poor kids’ tuition money!! i know this must be the case because there’s no way wolfman would have not mentioned this in the story if Haden had not set things right!! right, wolfman??

    1. Hey ‘white bread’ (man aren’t you the epitome of the Pillsbury dough boy or what?) How much did ‘the peckerwood’ gain by his back room deals? Remember when he demanded CSULB heads ‘rein in’ Tarkanian? Or how he put on the ‘George C. Marshall’ look of ‘outrage’ when he was asked about Sam Gilbert? Best was Bartow ‘playing the man’ recognizing what a corrupt piece of filth Gilbert was but somehow ‘….you leave my Jonniekins alone…’ Wooden…never a word.

I have no problem naming a former prominent Trojan as an honorary trustee, but if you name someone with Pat Haden’s background, how about also naming Mike Garrett and Pete Carroll as honorary trustees as well. Mike stood up for us at the start of the Bush debacle and spoke the truth about the NCAA. He was willing to fight for our school but the President was too weak to fight. Pete brought us glory. And, we should have an honorary place on the trustees for John McKay, Howard Jones, John Robinson, Rod Dedeaux, Peter Daland, and all other coaches who brought us national championships. Thanks MG for reminding us that being petty is not being a true Trojan. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
