USC QB Jayden Maiava is among the quarterbacks invited to the Manning Passing Academy camp next month at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La.
Arch Manning (Texas), Julian Sayin (Ohio State), C.J. Carr (Notre Dame) and Trinidad Chambliss are among the other quarterbacks invited.
- Kentucky pitcher Oliver Boone has committed to USC. Boone made only 10 appearances with one start for Kentucky in 2026 and had a 6.35 ERA. He went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and has two years of eligibility.

Jayden, not Jayen. Here’s a hint Cowardly Gabby. Look at the headline above. It contains the correct spelling of our starting quarterback’s name. Feel free to use it as a cheat sheet.
And stop hijacking the names of other posters. It makes you look desperate and pathetic. Your name is “Cowardly Gabby”, not “Real Gabby.” Embrace it just like you have with the pride month propaganda. Afterall, if s * x u a l perversion can be celebrated, so can cowardice.

ESPN doesn’t exactly have the same high opinion of USC’s 2026 football team as Lindy’s —-just the opposite in fact.
Naturally, Texas, Notre Dame, Miami and LSU are picked ahead of us….but so are the following Big Ten teams:
Ohio State
Indiana
Michigan
Penn State
Washington
Iowa

Oddly [very oddly], ESPN predicts USC will get an at large bid to the playoffs —where it will beat Hawaii in a first round matchup…and lose to Notre Dame in the Quarter Finals.

Penn State
Washington

Yeah –I had the same question. All I can figure is: we don’t play Iowa or Michigan …and maybe luck out against one of those other teams.

KY pitcher soon to be a Trojan Oliver Boone welcome to USC!
Two weeks ago today I attended an alumni gathering of classes 1951 – 1975 at Notre Dame High School – Sherman Oaks, CA – admittedly few if any of the class of 1951 nor many until 1960’s appeared to attend but nonetheless a fitting event. My class had professional athletes John Vella and Tim Foli as graduates and a great number of professionally gifted individuals.
Welcome Oliver Boone a ‘Knight’ ih high school and now a Trojan forever!

The Wizard to the lion:
“You, my friend, are a victim of disorganized thinking. You are under the unfortunate impression that just because you run away you have no courage; you’re confusing courage with wisdom… Back where I come from we have men who are called heroes. Once a year they take their fortitude out of mothballs and they parade it down the main street, and they have no more courage than you have. But they have one thing that you haven’t got: a medal.”
Is Cowardly Gabby confusing courage with wisdom? It was wise of him not to show up for the boxing match.

The portal works both ways so it is still all about the coaching. We will know the character of our football team after the four team preseason. The OL and DL should be strengths. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

Oregon vs. USC has become a great rivalry. MG, you are so right that it is the key game in the season. You need to admire what Phil Knight has done to elevate Oregon, and as long as he is financing the Oregon sports programs, USC should have motivation to finance our programs. By the way, who has the more competitive schedule, USC or the little private school in Indiana? Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

We all know the answer to that one: We do!

Agree MG. We must beat Oregon. Both teams will be undefeated, in the top 10, playing in front of a rocking Coli in the college football game of the week. If we can out physical Oregon at the line of scrimmage, it will show everyone that USC has returned to greatness. And I think we can do it. Really like how we look on paper along the lines. Time to prove it. If we dominate Oregon, and beat Ohio State, we will dominate recruiting and be a top 5 program for the next decade. If we lose badly to these teams, all momentum is lost, some key 2027 recruits will flip to other programs, and Riley will be out of a job.

Seriously —the Offensive Line, the experienced QB, the dual running threat add up to a Big Problem for anyone to stop. All our new receivers need to do: Don’t drop the ball. They don’t need yards after catch, they don’t need to hurdle tacklers, they don’t need spin moves —they just need to catch the fricking ball and move the chains —the running backs will do the rest.

One of the best things about the World Cup is the off the field behavior of the Scottish fans. Loved the singing at the Red Sox game. Yesterday it was reported that liquor stores and bars in the area can’t keep up with the Scots demand for beer and other drinks. Bars are actually running out of beer and yet no reports of unruly, violent, behavior. They are just laughing, joking around, hugging, and singing and praising the hospitality of the Americans and the beauty of our country.
