USC Notes: Time For Some Receiver Rankings

Phil Steele has ranked four USC wide receivers among his top 10 freshmen in the West. National rank is in parentheses.

1—Jalen Lott, Oregon (5)
2—Ethan Feaster, USC (6)
3—Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, USC (12)
4—Messiah Hampton, Oregon (19)
5—Jordan Clay, Washington (28)
6—Zion Robinson, Stanford (29)
7—Trent Mosley, USC (37)
8—Mason James, Washington (39)
9—Luc Weaver, USC (58)
10—Dre Pollard, Stanford (69)

Note: I actually rate Mosley as the No. 1 freshman receiver at USC but we’ll see what happens during the season.

  • Eric Reibe, the transfer center from UConn, has reaggravated an injury he had last season and is expected to be out for all or most of the summer. Here we go again with the basketball injuries.

    1. If the ranking were based solely on what a player did in high school, Trent Mosley would be well ahead of Kayden Dixon Wyatt. He lead Santa Marguerita to a state championship. Nobody could stop him in high school. I think he is below some others based solely on his height.

  1. Trojans should be stacked at WR, soph Tanook Hines is one of the fastest guys in college football with a 10.07 100 time.

FWIW, Feaster was mentored by Dez Bryant, who is really high on the young man.

Like every year, this upcoming season is going to boil down to the O-line…

    1. Agree 67. If we have an above average offensive line, and I think we will, watch out. Experienced quarterback who is very athletic, great running backs especially Waymo, solid and potentially great although inexperienced wide receivers and watch out for Bowman, the freshman tight end. It should be difficult for opposing teams to keep us under 35 points a game.

      1. Yes, always optimistic about USC football. Good thing that I don’t gamble. Would have lost most of the time over the past 15 years. But this year is different because I think we will be good along the line of scrimmage.

      1. …still hard to believe that happened…. it was the only way of blowing the game… why on earth put daffy Mario Williams in the game at THAT point?

  2. A federal judge said there was substantial evidence that donny’s DOJ subpoenas targeting Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and other Democrats were politically motivated. The judge called them unlawful and threw them out the window

      4. Yet they have the nerve to claim WE are in a cult. Who else but brainwashed retards would vote for dementia just because he had the right letter next to his name?

Dementia is never the “lesser of two evils”, their most popular excuse.

    2. Because the judge doesn’t want the DOJ to investigate billions of dollars in government fraud. Can’t upset the gravy train. Our friends run those NGOs, food programs, hospice care facilities, early learning centers, day care, transportations companies, home health care agencies, ect. And they vote and contribute to our campaigns.

      1. Sybil doesn’t get it: It’s not compassionate…..AND…. it’s not LEGAL to accept public money [which comes with strings attached and disclosure requirements] for personal gain…..

      2. Right MG. Omar initiated a government program that purportedly fed meals to poor kids during the summer school break. Her personal friend ran the program. He purportedly fed 1200 kids per day in Minnesota. The program fed nobody. The guy pocketed millions. You would think that everyone could agree that this should be investigated and people should go to jail. But no, Fredo celebrates a Federal judge who quashes subpoenas for government records. He also thinks its just dandy that vandals damaged the reflecting pool and have vowed to do it again.

      3. Plow — This case isn’t altogether clear in Sybil’s mind [then again, few things are]. If the state doesn’t want federal money it can refuse it —but if it accepts the money it is charged with a multitude of recordkeeping responsibilities. It’s records BELONG to the federal government. The Federal government can inspect them at any time. And… if the records show the money has been diverted to persons not authorized by the federal government…. we got ourselves a crime.

        Btw,

Hahn: “You’re an adequate prosecutor and your campaign is a practical joke on the City.”

Me: “If I’m only adequate I’d really hate to think of what that makes you….. you’re the biggest joke ever perpetrated on this City” [Which for the record wasn’t a fair remark —Jim was a fine guy …and far from the worst civil servant Los Angeles has ever seen….I was just doing what debaters do]…..

      1. Bottom line: USC came A LOT closer to beating North Carolina in the final game of the Super Regional than North Carolina came to beating Oklahoma in the final game of the World Series….

  4. KAM: Perhaps it’s best that SC didn’t have to face Oklahoma in an imaginary game, North Carolina was carved up
