Which USC game most-qualifies as a trap game?

USC will host Washington.

It travels to Penn State.

It faces UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

And few will mention it, but there is a trip to Wisconsin that could be dicey.

So which game is the biggest trap game?

  • USC five-star commit Honor Fa’alave Johnson of Cathedral Catholic will be at the big Edison summer passing tournament in Huntington Beach on Saturday.

    1. I give us a pass with Illinois [cuz I’m convinced they messed with our room service]….. but, yeah, no way we shoulda lost to Maryland or Minnesota …..[even if we weren’t used to Big Ten football or officiating yet]….

  3. Scott, unfortunately every conference game can be a trap game, and that is why the Big Ten schedule is so daunting for all conference members. And, why the nonconference games are important warmup games for the conference season. Now, if ND were in the Big Ten, they could play an equally tough schedule every year and USC could be one of their annual opponents like UCLA. On College Football Live yesterday, they discussed Texas Tech football and the impact of NIL money on that once mediocre program. It’s amazing what oil money can do. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

    1. We have the players to beat any team we play —we just need to prove it against Oregon on September 26th……. it’s all happy talk until we beat Oregon and take back our dominance of west coast football….

      1. …if we lose that game by ONE point almost all the 2026 optimism goes out the window…. Coach Riley has to have the players completely jacked up for that game…and the Coliseum crowd has to do their part…..

      3. AND… Washington has a first rate tactician and motivator as its Head Coach…. you know Jedd Fisch will be ready to jump us after playing crap teams like Eastern Washington and Minnesota right before they get USC….

      5. I’ve studied Washington —they are good …but, fortunately, they don’t have a running game…and their D-Line is as mediocre as ours…. I mainly worry about getting outcoached …this is a huge test for Lincoln….
