Too bad USC couldn’t extend its long-time partnership with Notre Dame so easily.

[ Unprecedented Scale: The Department of Education’s Public Transparency Dashboard has exposed over $72.1 billion in total foreign contributions across 559 U.S. institutions.

This places USC among the top-tier recipients of international funding in the United States, accounting for roughly 0.9% of all disclosed foreign money flowing into American higher education.

      Breakdown of the Funding

      The massive influx of international capital into USC is primarily divided into two categories mandated by the Higher Education Act.

      Foreign Gifts: These are direct philanthropic donations, restricted grants, or endowments sent by foreign individuals, overseas foundations, or non-U.S. organizations to fund specific university priorities, faculty chairs, or student scholarships. 

      Foreign Contracts: This makes up the overwhelming majority of USC’s total. These are transactional agreements—such as specialized research contracts, laboratory service agreements, or corporate partnerships—where USC provides academic, technological, or scientific deliverables to a foreign entity.

      St. Thomas More, a lawyer in England went to heaven. The Catholic Church has a day to honor lawyers and the highlight of the day is a Mass. Lawyers show up for the Mass. It is to honor St. Thomas More. I think it is called Red Day. So, there are lawyers in heaven.

  9. Scott, ND liked USC for the revenue not the tradition. Which team, BYU or USC would bring in the most NBC viewership and money. Did ND share its NBC revenue with USC? I think not. However, USC shared with its old Pac 12 rivals and look what that got us; the only Pac !2 person who got rich was Larry Scott. At least in the Big Ten, USC gets paid what it is worth. USC should give Phil Knight an honorary doctorate so that he will be as generous with NIL money to USC as he is with Oregon. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
