USC Morning Buzz: One Last Look At World Cup

If you have World Cup withdrawals, and before we get back to USC football, here’s the BBC’s montage on the tournament. It’s worth a watch.

  1. This video is the sickest kind of soccer propaganda.

I’m predicting this will become the first instance in InsideUSC history wherein the “moderator” and Scott clash….. the moderator will keep removing it….and Scott will keep putting it back up. It’ll bring back memories of the last scene in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty where Flora tries to make Aurora’s dress pink & Merryweather keeps turning it back to blue…….

  2. DON: Goals are much more rare than touchdowns so that accounts for the excessive happiness a goal can bring to the fans

KAM: Low scoring aside, it’s the stadium singing that gets me

  3. KAM: Let’s try to ramrod this one by the Censor, but wouldn’t it be better if soccer had a definite end to the game instead of adding on time when the game would otherwise be over?

DON: Like how they stop the clock in American football for injuries

  4. Daily Barstow Headline: “Individual named –actually too many names to report here—- found unconscious in parking lot…”

“Suspects —too many to mention —-being interviewed……”

  5. KAM: If you are looking for exciting football then SC has one of the best schedules of all time– Oregon, Washington, Penn St., Ohio St, Indiana and ucla

DON: That in itself is a Playoff-type schedule

  6. I liked the World Cup, got a lot of nice naps in watching it, except when FOX had broads doing the announcing, high pitched screams isn’t good for naps. And why are women broadcasting men’s sports anyway ?

  7. MG, your conversation between Scott and his soccer alter ego was great. Channel him more often so that we can see both sides of Scott. I am not a big soccer fan except for our Trojan women, but the spectacle and excitement that the World Cup generated was fantastic. I do wish that USC had men’s soccer, men’s and women’s gymnastics and softball. Except for the softball field, we have the other needed venues. Maybe some billionaire donors will endow our sports programs. I saw a report recently that USC is one of the top schools for having billionaire alums. Oh, well, I guess we will have to settle for beating Oregon in football. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
