USC Notes: Another Rite Of Summer

Now that we’ve experience media day, the next cliche of summer is upon us: Who gained or lost weight?

Two years ago, USC’s staff bragged about how the team gained 1,400 pounds. It made a big difference, right?

I don’t care about weight. I care about performance. But Floyd Bouchard gained 10 pounds (305 to 315)! King Miller gained 10 pounds (215 to 225)! Jide Abasiri lost 15 pounds (295 to 280)! So did Jamaal Jarrett (375 to 360)!

The next thing we’ll be this weekend when a player says USC players are closer than ever before.

  • Irish singer/songwriter and Academy Award winner Glen Hansard died in a motorcycle accident in Dublin on Wednesday. He was 56. You might remember we previously ran this performance of Hansard performing at the funeral of singer Shane MacGowan.

  2. I don’t know….sounds a lot like Country Western but ‘Irish’ i.e. an ‘acquired taste’ akin to licorice, jelly beans or anchovies – you either like or don’t….sad to see a church allowing that…t’would be far more appropriate at a ‘reception’.

  3. KAM: –In preseason football you have to put up with wordy opinions

DON: But then Your team starts playing, changing your opinion

DON: We men like to show off our masculinity

DON: You think so?–That would be crafty

DON: What do you want me to do about it, we’re working on it

  9. KAM: I know people don’t like to be criticized, but maybe you should stop saying how anxious Iran is to talk, which they always deny

    1. they are smarter than the demented Peedo we have running things…they know he’s desperate to cut and run, but they won’t let him. they know his deadline is Nov 6 and they won’t budge till then. Ask the late Jimmy C about that little trick.

oh, and we’re seriously low on ammo! but we got the strategic genius Whiskey Pete to guide our planning! he ran a million dollar charity into the ground, totally incompetent, but he’s in charge of the biggest outfit in the world,, huge shocker he’s drowning. my fear is he and the Big Peedo could do something desperate to try to escape the chokehold Iran has them in!!

  10. KAM: SC’s running back King Miller gained 10-pounds to 225

DON: Hopefully the extra weight doesn’t slow him down, but maybe he figured he could use a little more ‘padding to withstand the football blows

  11. KAM: The punishment these running backs take takes your breath away. Petros, you know who he is?–He would say as an old SC back he could barely get up the next morning after a game

DON: Never heard of him but he speaks the truth, at least about the legal abuse of a running back

      1. So, CARL, you’re saying he was another Leroy Hoard, who famously said:

Coach, if you need one yard, I’ll get you three. If you need five yards, I’ll get you three.”

DON: The bruin quarterback who goes by ‘I-am said, “He brings a different type of energy… It’s like talking to a poet or something, the way the words roll off”

KAM: Along with ‘I-am Coach brought his stud running back with him. Don’t know if they can stop anybody but they will score plenty
