Look at the USC team photos below from 1970 (in color) and then 1967.
You didn’t have 800 staff members and you can see every player. Boy, it was a different world.

REST IN PEACE #39 Sam “Bam” Cunningham.. To me he was a true Trojan Warrior one of the great football players ever at USC. He was fast, physical, played for the team rather than individual stats. What a great athlete he was who could have probably played WR, TIGHT END, LINEBACKER, DEFENSIVE END, AND SAFETY. Great person even more importantly. and a true gentlemen. Only Ricky Bell, came close to Sam in terms of being a great athlete, and warrior on the football field. BOTH surely deserve a statute in front of the new Lincoln Memorial Football Palace.

remarkable, wolfman, nothing escapes your eagle-eye!! I only wish SC would do what’s right snd include the wolfman in future team photos! Your erudition is likely what will someday get SC over the top, As unlikely as that seems!
quite frankly, it’s the least they could do to honor your decades of vital contribution to a mediocre program!!

To compare a photo from the 1960’s to those of today is nuts.
Count the number of players/coaches – 21 and 50+ players….now take a look at the photo released this year – good night 90+ players and coaches/assistants – over 60…..
Here’s last year’s

actually looks pretty good
Looks like the athletic dept wanted to show off that new site Bloom ctr.

Scott, did you notice that the 1967 and 1970 team photos had the players seated and standing in numerical order. LR brought back a tradition to make you happy. I personally like the Dodgers World Series team photos where they are standing and laying randomly on the stadium grass wearing their championship shirts and hats. Let’s hope that our Trojans get a team photo celebrating the winning of an NC. Ten days until the start of the season. Enough with the what ifs, let’s enjoy every win and critique every loss. Fight on, Dan, class of 1962

Yeah, because taking a picture in numerical order is a more important tradition than playing ND & attending the UCLA pep rally!
