USC Morning Buzz: Lincoln Riley Confident Ahead Of Mighty San Jose State

A USC donor offered his experience at the Salute to Troy dinner:

  • I didn’t see Lincoln Riley mingle at all.  I think he came from the (football) building directly to the podium (at Loker Stadium). He did the same at the building grand opening ceremony and tour.  You have the big contributors for the building sitting outside on the road and when they are ready to begin the ceremony he comes out of the building to begin the program.

“They had a walk-through practice that they let us watch from the third story of the new building but no pictures allowed. They look like ants from up there.”

  • Lincoln Riley feels good going into the first game: “I do have a lot of confidence in the football team that I think we have a chance to be, and really the program that we have a chance to be here in the next several years. I mean, it’s a fun job right now for sure.”
  • USC is favored by 38.5 points vs. San Jose State. The over/under for the Trojans’ point total is 47.5.
  • Lincoln Riley said Jahkeem Stewart’s foot injury is “minor” and Stewart might be available for the second game. Given Stewart’s history, it’s still worth monitoring.
  • Dolly Parton and Kermit the Frog. What a duo!

    1. Just saw it — “….I do the rock…myself…’ He was such a presence….he had a niche role for 1 season in ‘Wiseguy’ playing ‘Winston Newquay’ opposite, another great loss Paul Winfield.

  1. Good news on Jahkeem, though I don’t see how he can go from being on crutches, to ready to play, two weeks after the injury.

We need Bourbon (not literally (well, maybe literally)), but Bourbon, our MD poster who is in Colorado. He typically comes back for football season.

Bourbon, what do you think? Patient is a 20-year old male, 6’5″, 295 lbs, previous history with foot stress fracture, successful surgery, dealing with a new undisclosed foot issue, last seen on crutches, Riley now says he could be good to go next week.

      1. Not opinions. Flat out lies, such as the one you posted earlier this morning, claiming I said a 12 year in a bikini looked sexy.

Again, she proves what an idiot she is…lying about her lies.

    1. Lots of Columbo’s weren’t that good, karma [the one with Faye Dunaway was the weirdest thing ever placed on a tv screen]…..

      1. The later ones weren’t that good, but I’ll take a Cassidy, McGoohan or Culp episode any day, hell, from Murder By The Book to Troubled Waters, there weren’t too many bad ones . Best gotcha clue ? Suitable For Framing with Falk’s old camp counselor Ross Martin

    1. I’m thankful to Scott for the video.

But I’m more thankful for his use of “Idiot Be Gone” a few minutes ago. Poof! Several of her posts disappeared!

      1. Scott knows when to use that old vaudeville “hook” to get a hated performer off stage before he ruins the show….

      2. GREAT ANALOGY! She is definitely a “hated performer”.

You do have to wonder if it’s an act. No one could possibly be THAT stupid.

      3. Most of the people dragged off the show in the 1890’s felt humiliated….and never went on stage again……

      4. When they’re in response to her stupidity, I would expect Scott to delete them, along with her posts.

That would be obvious to anyone with a triple digit IQ. That’s why the poor thing didn’t grasp it. She’s as simple minded as a cat chasing the dot from a laser pointer. LMAO

  3. what a formula for disaster…SC will likely be ranked in top 10 after dining on these soup cans, then, confident in their dominance, switch the blinding team speed of OR and their senior trigger man QB. my prediction:

      1. If trOJies go with 5 down that’s gonna put extreme pressure on LB’s and secondary, that’s gonna be un problemo grande. Dante is projected as overall #1 ahead of Arch, so they will be on the hot seat!

  4. Scooter,

SC is heavliy favored for the San Jose St game. What happens if SC loses to them? Does SC drive Riley to the LAX tarmac and fire him? Will they fire Jen Taco Lita Cohen as well for not making him meet the donors? What a sh^t show.

      1. Budda,

Would you hire Entz, the head coach of Fresno St for SC if he wins with a 10-2 record there? I say yes and no. yes, because he has the qualities of a head coach and he will be great. I say no, not right now because I would like to see hiim in a big time program first and see what he does. Yet, If I wait, he could end u someplace where he does not want to leave. I woud look and see what he does at Fresno and see how the team reacts to him.

  5. Lieutenant Columbo was the greatest detective ever……ah..”just one more thing” does everyone know he had a glass eye, and a terrible car. No doubt about it if Richard Kimble had hired him in the Fugitive he would not have had so many years on the run fighting for hi innocence, and trying to find the one armed man that was the real killer of his wife.

RIP two Great Actors- Peter Falk, and David Jansen !!
