The Goal Posts Suddenly Moved For Lincoln Riley And Co.

I was pretty low key last week leading up to the Oregon game.

It was Lincoln Riley who talked about how he has everything in place for success (NIL, new football building) and the fanboys who said it was the biggest game of the Riley Era.

And now that USC lost?

Well, the fanboys have been complaining that the game was Oregon’s Super Bowl.

And Riley? Here is what he said: “Look, we didn’t get run out stadium. There’s a lot of good things on that tape.
“You don’t have a chance to win a game like that if you don’t do some things pretty well.”

So he just moved the goal posts. At least USC didn’t get run out of the stadium? USC did some things pretty well? Yes, of course. But USC also allowed 504 yards!

Colin Cowherd has resumed bootlicking status after a couple days.

“Oregon is a much better football program than USC… If you’re going to judge Lincoln Riley – If he loses to Washington, bring the battle axe. He loses to Wisconsin or Penn State, bring it on.”

Was he saying Oregon was much better last week? Cowherd is shameless.

  2. Of course Miley Coyote would say this (he doesn’t move goal posts … he tunnels under them) … just like Gomer would get all giddy about winning the Pac-12 South … the football program is a disgrace.

    2. The program will crater and lose recruits if they don’t show a higher standard and get rid of Riley. You gotta cough up that buy out money and get a proven guy like Urban Meyer. Right now they’ve got Oscar Mayer – total weenie.

  4. LR has lost the program- permanently. It is impossible for this doofus to fix something he has zero clue how to fix. His idea of a successful program is: Top 3 QB in nation, top 10 offense in nation, they are competitive in games, look good on tape…. As one poster said- Drug his a$$, take a picture of him with a hooker and fire him for the morals clause. We cant wait 5 more years with this insanity.

  5. My whole approach to games now is the same as under Helton and Kiffin – just when will the axe fall?

    Would take a lot to tarmac Riley before end of season, but on the other hand, you need to hit the ground running to get a new coach quickly in place to maintain recruiting and the incumbent guys you don’t want going to the portal.

  7. Oregon is way better than Washington, Penn St, Wisconsin, and on par with Ohio State. Oregon was the better team, USC got beat. And beat themselves in the process.
