Picture Of The Day

I ran a photo Friday of basketball great John Havlicek playing USC in the 1961 Los Angeles Basketball Classic at the Sports Arena. In the picture below another basketball legend, Jerry West of West Virginia guards UCLA’s John Green in the 1959 Los Angeles Basketball Classic. USC did not play West Virginia, losing to Cal in the semifinals. West Virginia beat UCLA, 87-73, on Dec. … Continue reading Picture Of The Day

Andy Enfield Gives Out MVP Award

USC held its basketball banquet last night and Andy Enfield named Bennie Boatwright the MVP. Why is that unusual? Because Enfield did not give out the Sam Barry Award (MVP) from 2015-17. And he never gave an explanation either. I’m a little surprised Nick Rakocevic got most improved but I guess there were only around six players left on the current roster so not many … Continue reading Andy Enfield Gives Out MVP Award

USC Basketball Roster Is A Real Mish Mash

Daniel Utomi, a 6-6 forward from Akron, has transferred to USC. He will be eligible immediately. He is ranked No. 23 in ESPN’s graduate transfer rankings, which I didn’t know existed until today. Utomi averaged 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 37.3 percent from 3-point range last season. He scored 11 points in a 84-53 loss to USC in Honolulu on Dec. 22, 2017. … Continue reading USC Basketball Roster Is A Real Mish Mash
