If you can’t win, just bring embarrassing props to the game. You’ve got the turnover sword, which apparently is shown to fans when you are losing by 14 points vs. Washington (see below). And that ridiculous sledge hammer, which looks like something John Baxter would use. UPDATED: I’ve written about it before, but I forgot about the stupid wrestling belt Graham Harrell makes the QB … Continue reading USC Is Nation’s No. 1 Prop Team

Is USC’s offense too easy to figure out? Fox analyst Brock Huard made a comment about knowing where the ball was going based on the formation. And remember what I wrote back in March after I spoke to an NFL scout who watched North Texas practices (where Graham Harrell coached). “They definitely want to throw the ball so the defense has to dare them to … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Is USC’s Offense Too Easy To Figure Out?

Clay Helton spoke for just 10 minutes, which is about half the normal time because of a lack of questions. I guess people are just bored/fed up talking to him. Kedon Slovis is still not medically cleared, Helton said. He blamed the Washington and BYU losses on turnovers. “I still believe in this team wholeheartedly,” Helton said. Matt Fink ran for 2 yards and then threw an incomplete pass to Drake London in the end zone on fourth down. Wouldn’t it make sense to have used Stepp down by the goal line? USC then got the ball back with … Continue reading USC Loves To Make Things Tougher

Some of the USC fans I talk to are concerned USC might win enough games to save Clay Helton‘s job. That is what they think about more than whether USC can win the Pac-12 South. One believes Helton is finished no matter how many games he wins. That is what is on their minds. The 28-14 loss to Washington merely is a sidenote to them … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Fans Want Helton Out; What Is Harrell Doing?

Clay Helton was oh-so Clay Helton after USC lost a winnable game at Washington. “I love the way that our guys competed and I love their heart,” Helton said. But were they warriors? “I told the guys in the locker room that they’re a football team that we can see again come December if you do your job. They’re a good team and so are … Continue reading Clay Helton Quotes Of The Night
