USC Baseball Exodus Continues
Pitcher Diego Velasquez, who started an elimination game against Texas State two weeks ago, has entered the transfer portal. Velasquez had a 5-1 record with a 4.26 ERA in 31 innings this season. He was a freshman this past season. USC has had four pitchers enter the portal so far but obviously the important thing is that Grant Govel and Andrew Johnson remain. USC pitcher Ben Cushnie has entered the transfer portal. He pitched 22 innings last season and had a 1.64 ERA with 13 strikeouts. Another pitcher, Garren Rizzo, who pitched only nine innings before getting injured, entered the portal. Freshman pitcher Jake Sekany, who redshirted, entered the portal this morning. Just when you fell in love with USC baseball, some depressing news. Catcher Augie Lopez, who led the Trojans in home runs (19) and was second in RBI (57), has entered the transfer portal.
