It’s Spring Scrimmage Day!
The USC spring scrimmage is today! One last chance for the Pac-12 Network to get you if you are not actually going to the Coliseum. Unlike some, I don’t like to overreact to spring games because the roster is missing players who will be here in the fall, especially in the transfer portal era. I’d say the things to watch today are the overall approach … Continue reading It’s Spring Scrimmage Day!
USC Won’t Have Keynote Commencement Speaker
USC just announced changes to its graduation ceremony next month. “Given the highly publicized circumstances surrounding our main-stage commencement program, university leadership has decided it is best to release our outside speakers and honorees from attending this year’s ceremony. We’ve been talking to this exceptional group and hope to confer these honorary degrees at a future commencement or other academic ceremonies.” So no commencement speaker. … Continue reading USC Won’t Have Keynote Commencement Speaker
USC Notes: Trojans Add Transfer Guard
UC San Diego transfer Bryce Pope has committed to USC. Pope averaged 18.3 points last season but only 33 percent on 3-pointers. He is a sixth-year senior. USC currently has five scholarship players. Is the Muss Bus rolling now? Among the celebrities scheduled to be at USC this weekend for the Festival of Books: Sophia Bush (USC graduate), RuPaul, Henry Winkler, Tamron Hall, Ed Begley … Continue reading USC Notes: Trojans Add Transfer Guard
If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
The way USC players are raving about the defense’s new aggressive philosophy, I expect to see them disrupt Miller Moss and Co. on Saturday at the Coliseum. That’s the expectation, anyways. Will linebacker Eric Gentry line up at defensive end in the scrimmage? It’s an interesting move. He wasn’t strong enough last year to make such a move but USC is touting how much weight … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
Show Me The Money
Bear Alexander signed a new NIL deal in late March with the USC collective. Then this announcement came out yesterday. Does it illustrate why Alexander reversed course after he was supposed to enter the transfer portal? You mean it wasn’t playing for Coach “Henny” that swayed him but NIL dollars? I really hope Alexander shows the same desire on the field. I'm excited to join … Continue reading Show Me The Money
USC Notes: Will Jay Toia Get NIL Offer?
Former USC defensive lineman Jay Toia is leaving UCLA and entering the transfer portal. He is expected to get substantial NIL offers, which makes USC a candidate to get him back. Remember, the coaching staff Toia clashed with is gone from when he originally was at USC. Former USC defensive end Romello Height is considering Miami, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. This is an amusing … Continue reading USC Notes: Will Jay Toia Get NIL Offer?
