It’s been about 12 years since Lane Kiffin famously said “commitments mean nothing.” There is a lot of buzz right now that four-star safety Hylton Stubbs of Jacksonville, Fla., who committed to USC in March, will be the next prized recruit to decommit. Stubbs visited Miami this weekend and said it had a “very big” impact. What will be the excuse? USC’s NIL? Miami’s NIL? … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Is This The Next Shoe To Drop?
Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry, who decommitted from USC this week, is visiting Alabama this weekend. She is one of the best freshmen girls’ basketball … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
Even coaches from schools who play USC contacted me this morning about defensive line coach Shaun Nua’s tweet about this week’s decommitments. “It’s weak,” one coach said. “Why address it? It looks whiny. You don’t draw attention to yourself when you lose a couple recruits.” About 25 Kings games will be on 710-AM next season. Does that create any conflicts with USC basketball? The USC … Continue reading USC Notes: Tweet Heard Through College Football
If you want to blame USC’s NIL for the decommitments this week, then it was the same NIL promises that caused them to commit in the first place. So nothing to do with Coach Henny? Can you remember a USC assistant coach putting out a tweet before because of the decommitments? Shaun Noa, the defensive line assistant, just did it this morning. Did it hurt … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Decommitments Hurt!
