Doug MacKenzie was a fullback who played at USC from 1979-81. That means he was a fullback who blocked for two Heisman Trophy winners (Charles White, Marcus Allen). In the above picture, he is blocking for Allen in the 1980 USC-Arizona State game.
MacKenzie died on Feb. 24. He had suffered a stroke in 2016. He was 59. In 1980, he rushed for 127 yards in 24 carries and scored a touchdown. He also caught seven passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Prior to USC, MacKenzie played at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara.
