USC had a lot of players decide to return for their senior seasons, whether because of injury (Porter Gustin) or subpar seasons (Iman Marshall, Chuma Edoga) or not being projected where they wanted to be drafted (Cameron Smith, Marvell Tell). Tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe could fall into two categories (injury, subpar season).
But in this 2019 mock draft from Bleacher Report, USC does not have anyone projected in the first round.
Now I don’t think lacking a first-round pick really matters when it comes to predicting USC’s fortunes next season. Instead, I would say the Trojans’ success will require some of these players to actually improve their performance.
Gustin and Marshall had good spring practices, which excited the Internet media. But one question not really addressed was why Imatorbhebhe was held out? He played the second half of last season after being sidelined with hip/thigh injuries.
Did he never fully recover? Or is Clay Helton trying to pamper him?
Has Gomer and his W. Kentucky staff made any player better ?

Yes. Rojo. And the member of Helton’s staff that made him better is gone.

Pittman is a beast, nfl receiver with huge upside. USC has squandered him as bad as possible. He has first round written all over him with any other staff.

Hi Mr Pittman

Lol. Nope. You disagree? He and Vaughn are nfl, not sure first rounders, but I think Pittman with his size has best chance.

Privacy laws/policies make fully understanding the injury status of these student athletes near impossible. Scottie, you want to believe Pittman was healthy all of last season, and that Imathorbebe was ready to roll toward the end of last season. But it’s impossible to know.

Here’s the run. If the coaches pushed an injured player before he was ready, and said player aggravated his injury. We would be all over the staff for being so stupid.
