USC Sprinter Michael Norman Turns Pro

Michael Norman, who won the 400 meters at the NCAA championships, is turning pro after two years at USC.

There was some thought within the USC track program that Norman might come back for another year because he is on track to graduate in three years. But he is a hot commodity right now and will be a big name for the 2020 Olympics.

Another USC NCAA champion, 400-meter hurdler Rai Benjamin, is also expected to turn pro.

  1. What else is new. Same old money talks. Even in T & F athletes leaving early for the pay day. Need to follow baseball of three years once you enter the university. Norman is top drawer, but he should have also run the 200M. Benjamin transfers from ucla for one lousy year to turn pro.
He is another one that could have run the open 400M having no competition in the LH. The USC men will never win a national title outdoors when they baby these athletes who are superstars then leave early for the pros.
