Who is defending Clay Helton now?

What was the game plan? Can USC run block? Did it even want to run?

Can Clancy Pendergast even defend the middle of the field?

Can John Baxter coach special teams?

What a disaster. But don’t expect Lynn Swann to do anything. He acts like a figurehead.

Porter Gustin is ejected for targeting.

JT Daniels is throwing too much off his back foot and USC has rushed for 16 yards in 11 carries. No wonder Texas leads 16-14 at halftime.

USC started brightly with a 14-3 lead but the second quarter was a mess. Two guys chop blocked on a fourth-and-goal. Then USC roughed the punter. And Chris Tilbey had a 13-yard punt. It looked like Stanford again.

  7. Trojans defense playing really well as usual, Helton and Martin giving the Trojans no shot at winning this game. Trojans defense will not be able to keep it up as they’re constantly on the field. CLAY HELTON IS GARBAGE!

    SC clearly looks like the better team out there. they should take care of business in the 2nd half. Looks like night and day compared to the stanford game – Texas can’t hold a candle to Stanford, and it’s easier to through without a bone bruise in your hand.

  10. We are playing against two teams tonight. The refs and Texas. Now if we had ANY blocking at all we’d be ahead by two touchdowns. If the y’all refs knew anything about football rules there would be a safety added but knees being down, elbows down none of that matters to the refs. Finally we got a glimpse of new math with Texas refs illegal hands to the face ten yard penalty on a down where 20 yards were needed equals first and then for Texans

      being an AD. He sits on his ass letting programs like Baseball and Men
      Volleyball labor at the bottom .

    1. Hey PT, Daniels’ deserves more credit for this loss than Max Browne did for the Alabama loss. Will the Rah-Rah’s whine for a QB change – they should. Tixas scored 34 unanswered points. I still have no idea what the 3rd Qtr. FG would have done for the bozos had it been good (37 – 17: BFD) instead of blocked and turned into a Tixas TD!!

      I know PT, UCLA is loosing 16 -7, but their defense hasn’t allowed 34 unanswered points lately. Fight on.

  26. The Trojans defense has been on the field all night because of the incompetent Helton and Martin offensive play calling. If it weren’t for the Trojans defense the beatdown woukd be worse. The refs have screwed the Trojans and Helton says and does nothing…Helton and Swann are a Gawd Damn Joke!

  29. Swann, like Haden, like Nikias is USC’s own ‘deep state’ – the connected either through athletics or 28th Street frattieland. Just hope Caruso’s search committee comes up with someone who doesn’t act like that back end of a horse John Forbes Kerry.

    Seen that photo of his hustling his ‘an evening with the former Sec. of State who knows every 5 star hotel in Teheran and Pyonyang’…next weekend right south of bel-air tech.

  30. This SC football program is joke. I want to boo the coaches, but I don’t want the players think I am booing them. I love SC football but it is time for some hard love.

  32. It is terrible to rely on Joke Toss Daniels and blame him for not being the God Helton and staff think he is. After all look at the players who have been in the system for 3 years and can’t beat a high school quarterback.

  41. Texas is at best a second rate team, yet after the first quarter, this had the feeling of 2016 Alabama and Notre Dame games. Hopeless. Just wanted the game to be over. JT will be a really good QB one day, provided that he is behind a line that can run block and take some pressure off of him. Why does Callaway still have a job?

  49. Very disappointing to watch my team play poorly and then quit. This team has talent but obviously lacks the leadership and, sadly, coaching talent to play 4 quarters of inspired football. I have supported Clay, hoping he would grow into a good head coach but it’s not happening. Obviously change is coming – I wish Clay & staff well. Nikias is gone – time to commit to the program and open the wallet.
