I’m told from people who listen on the radio that the USC announcers asked fans not to sell their tickets to Notre Dame fans.
USC coach Clay Helton made his own plea Wednesday night.
“I know the results are not what we wanted, but this is a group of young men that has done a lot for the program and for this university.
“I hope everybody comes out and celebrates Cam Smith, Porter Gustin, Marvell Tell, Biggie Marshall, Isaiah Langley, Toa Lobendahn, Chris Brown, Chuma Edoga, (Aca’Cedric) Ware … I hope it’s a great atmosphere, because when you talk USC/Notre Dame, that’s why you come here.”
Coach: I will be there and I will root for the Trojans until the game ends. Fight On!

I was listening to the XM radio station carrying the USC network broadcast – Pete Arbogast did indeed ask fans not to sell their tickets to Notre Dame fans, but it was done in his typical fashion, so did not appear that he was acting on behalf of the administration, but rather just as an announcer who has covered the program and that game innumerable times…but the larger point is valid – the entire program, from administration to coaching staff (even in an apparent state of mass delusion), is almost certainly dreading how embarrassing Saturday will be…

To clarify, the broadcast in question was last Saturday’s UCLA game, and by “typical fashion” I mean understated and quick (said in passing)…

I am sorry to say this, but each one of these players should have received much better and much more disciplined and committed coaching than what they actually received.
I remember Marshall as a freshman during the Spring scrimmage. He was all over Ju Ju – superb pass coverage. Everyone at that scrimmage was thinking that Biggie had all the potential in the world. We saw what that turned into during the Cal game a couple of weeks ago And that is the poster child of what is wrong with SC football right now.

This is what happens when an administration hasn’t the foresight to understand how much the fans love this team and its’ legacy. This administration pre-Nikias or post has no leadership and it is evident in letting Swann give this poor sap a 3 year extension. This is what angers the loyal fan base – the furor deserves to be hurled at that ‘yes man’ Swann that clueless overpaid hack sideline commentator and part-time politician. This is all Swann’s and that coward doesn’t have the stones to make any move and won’t – thus you have a stadium full of ‘princess’ fans’ and the morons from ‘peckerwood knot hole U’. This is all Swann’s all of it.

Having sat through the humiliation of 1966 and watching John McKay , just the opposite of the maltongue lying helton…swore never again…and cranked it up a notch…SC has no crank and no notches with this head coach, while enablers ,clueless to the core , drag SC down to ever new lows.

I gladly sold my tix. USC is currently a “bad trade” and I will continue to “short it” until I see the administration start to act in the best interest of the school and the athletic program. I’ve been a Committee member for 14 years and am seriously considering canceling my tix and PSL commitment for the new seats in the renovated coliseum…

You can’t have your cake and eat it too, there are ramifications to deal with when the athletic administration continues to make poor decisions. If you continue to support a underachieving, mediocrity type of coach, then expect the administration to continue to extend his contract, so you make the choice. The athletic administration at USC are so arrogant, that they feel that they can control the fans, too ? ….Really?!!!

Sold all 8 seats.
First ND game at the eColi that I will not be in attendance in 35 years.
SC Admin needs to get the message that what has happened with this team and the athletic department admin is not OK.
One more thing, 35+ years of season tix, 8 total – 2 C&G memberships 30+ years, USC tix people told us that it doesn’t matter or mean anything now. Next year’s tix will depend upon what is done regarding the coaching and malaise the program is mired in. Right now, it ain’t looking too good…
I love USC and this football team too much to witness it’s destruction.
