I mentioned yesterday that there were a lot of Tim Rossovich stories. Here are a few:
- One time he grabbed a student by the ankles and hung him out the second-floor window of a dorm. The student turned out to be the son of a member of the USC Board of Trustees.
- He once tore a water fountain off a wall.
- He chewed light bulbs.
- One time during rush week for students who want to join fraternities and sororities, Rossovich could not get a female student to acknowledge him as she walked past his window. So he mooned her. A witness reported the incident and Rossovich appeared before the student council. His excuse was he was coming out of the shower and his robe fell off and he bent over to pick it up.
- One time, Rossovich went to a fraternity party he was not invited to attend. He was asked to leave. Before he left, Rossovich stole some of their furniture. When a USC coach asked Rossovich if he stole the furniture, he said, “yes” and was ordered to return it.
Now about the photo above:
On Dec. 13, 1967, USC sent some players to 20th Century Fox studios in Hollywood, where they visited the set of the movie, “Star!”
From left are Ron Yary, Tim Rossovich, O.J. Simpson and Adrian Young. Actress Julie Andrews is holding the football. Also in the photo is director Robert Wise, who directed “The Sound of Music” and “West Side Story.”
Yary was the No. 1 pick in the 1968 draft while Simpson was No. 1 in the 1969 draft.
He used to hang out at a sports supply store at the Farmer’s Market near CBS. I remember seeing him there.

I was a fraternity brother of Tim’s. Your examples listed here are a few of the mildest incidents he was involved in. If I told you some of the things I saw Tim do, no one would believe them. Also, some of the parties he held at his house in 1967 were legendary. If those parties were held today, all participants would be in San Quentin. RIP big man.

Great to hear about these stories from those who shared time with Tim.
