USC Really Wants Quarterbacks

Does USC really need to sign two quarterbacks this year?

JT Daniels will be a sophomore and the NFL after junior season scenario seems ridiculous today.

But USC is not only signing QB Kedon Slovis, it is actively recruiting at least two more quarterbacks: Maverick McIvor, who originally committed to Texas Tech, but decommitted. USC is also recruiting Dillon Gabriel of Mililani, Hawaii, who was committed to Army. Gabriel now lists Georgia, USC and Central Florida as his final three college choices.

If you ask me, they are worried about Jack Sears transferring after the season because they will have five quarterbacks on scholarship if Slovis and one other sign. Keep that in mind when the pundits/fans complain about how sanctions are still having a toll on the program, etc.

  1. Whoa, SUCCXster’s, Mark Sanchez, former bozo u QB, sizzled in a humiliating Redskin defeat. Sanchez went 6 – 10 for 38 yds & 2 ints (one a pick 6). He retired to the bench down 40 – 0. Sanchez’s game QB rating: 10.7.

  2. Helton recruits like a kid in a candy store. All he thinks about is quarterback and receivers. He needs some studs on the o-line and a few defensive backs who don’t grab every player going by.

  3. Not a bad strategy if this is an indicator that KK will hold an open competition for the job. Everyone talks about changing the culture and making it more competitive, well the best place to start is the QB position. JT Daniels did not, in my eyes, solidify the position. If you have a true competition there, then everyone and every other position will follow.
