USC is ranked No. 18 by 247Sports but the ranking could drop to No. 20 if wide receiver Puka Nacua goes to Washington, Utah or Oregon.
Meanwhile, offensive Chuma Edoga, linebacker Porter Gustin, cornerback Iman Marshall, linebacker Cameron Smith and safety Marvell Tell were invited to the NFL combine later this month.
And the chipper and ucla’s ranking comes in somewhere north of 40…
9th in the Pac-12.
Just saying.

I’m still worried. At Oregon he had maybe 2 classes ranked in the top 20 and only 1 in the top 10.

Actually 7th, 67. According to PUS, facts matter.

I use Rivals rankings. ucla is 9th in the Pac-12. And ranked 46th overall.
But hey, find whatever ranking you like. They all can be summarized as follows from today’s press:
“It turns out that the worry over Chip Kelly’s recruiting at UCLA was completely justified.”
The chipper had his chance. He went 3-9 last year. Only Stanford made fewer scholarship offers this year than the chipper. And this is how it turned out for him.

Speaks volumes of the few who wanted to coach at bel-air tech. Kelly’s hire was hailed as ‘terrific’ save that he hates to recruit. Believe the reports – he truly does – the novelty of his ideas will be shortlived what with much better head coaches (save at USC) elsewhere in the conference. He had a great run @ OR and initially with the Eagles but then boom same at SFO.
Then again Helton is still at USC along with Swann.

Rusoviet – right on the money. Kelly is also very poor in personnel evaluation. He traded Nick Foles, plus a second round draft pick AND a fourth round draft pick for Sam Bradford.
He released DeSean Jackson outright.
He traded LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso.
Those are really awful decisions. No chance he could have stayed in the NFL.

Commie Lush, the proof is in the pudding.
The 2018 preseason AP FB rankings had Clown U at #15. UCLA wasn’t in the top 50.
Yet 2 – 8 UCLA bitch slapped the 5 -5 Clownster’s 34 – 27.
And now Chernobyl U, the FB laughing stock of the PAC – 12, is boasting, amid the numerous bozo decommits and recruiting whiffs, about Clown U’s mediocre 2019 recruiting season, WTF.
CK got what he needed, recruits who don’t need petting; who don’t check themselves out in every mirror they pass; who won’t go Michael Jackson ape shit when executing their job (like block and tackle) and who are smart enough to receive a UCLA FB scholarship.

I suppose you could say Chuma’s play was often times “offensive” but it’s probably just a typical case of The Clay Helton of Journalism failing to proofread his work.

****Gosh, 67, Chip didn’t lose an O/L he needed to Utah St., and neither did he lose a 5-star recruit that enrolled in school and 2 weeks later transferred.
Hey 67, remind us how many bozo commits, decommited Chernobyl U.
https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/?Conference=Pac-12
UCLA is ranked #7 in Pac – 12 recruiting.
67, just so you don’t forget – Chip 34 – Chernobyl U 27.
On-field performance vs hot-air boasting.

Hey, asshat owns, how many ruins have left the program this year? Just askin, cause the last time I looked it was over 30, and another linebacker yesterday.
And what about that kid who turned down westwierd schollie for a walkon offer yesterday?
Now that’s funny..maybe if you offer on the eighth of each month they’ll come.. hahahahaha

Wow
30 fUCLA transfered out. Two years from now…chipper is lookin at a lot of JC transfers or he won’t be able to even hold a practice.
SOP chipper CLOSED PRACTICE. I often wondered what was so top secret about chipper. Shoulda realized–just not enough on the roster.

No they didn’t all transfer…but they left the program. Remember Jaelen Phillips took a medical retirement as did others and others left early.
Chip getting his guys..

For an AH rah-rah PUS, you sure know mucho about UCLA FB program.
But bottom line PUS:
UCLA 34 – Chernobyl U 27
Helton recruited 47 wideouts and not much else. That O/L Helton desperately sought signed with Utah St.
So PUS if you want to add the # of stars SUCCX recruited, SUCCX does have the larger number. But, Clown U didn’t get everything they needed.
And even though UCLA recruited a lower number of stars, Chip recruited everything he required to build a stronger team for next year.

30 departures? Pudly, is that a typo? How could it be that many?!?
I mean, 30 players walking away from the chipper? What are they thinking?
They are thinking that ucla football is irrelevant, that the chipper is a has-been, and… they are right.
You know, owns holds on to the SC-ucla outcome from last year. It comes up on virtually every one of his posts, at least the few that have some facts attached to them.
In the last 20 years, the SC-ucla record is something like 15-5. But hey, I guess that is a great record for an irrelevant team like ucla.
8-clap!

Nobody mentioned Toa not being invited. The man with magic snap must be able to try out for towel not or something. Helton will have call in some favors to get the USC Thanos a spot on someone’s roster.

All of those “highly” ranked recruiting classes yielded 5 wins last year. Unless you have a well balanced class- this class lacks OL, but is well balanced beyond that- who cares what the rankings are? Those classes were bloated because of the WRs and everyone knows SC will never lack personnel at this position. Don’t get me wrong, I would have liked to for them to have signed another RB and some OL, however, to sign more WR- some of whom will transfer- just to rank higher in the rankings is just pointless. Fill needs, recruit guys with real character, and create an atmosphere of competition. Then, in words of the great philosopher, Ed Orgeron,”Let the chips fall where they may.”

Hey Cal75: If Uncle Chip has problems with having enough players to hold practice in the future, then that might bring me some solace while SC is rebuilding. Now if FUCLA beats SC this season, the that feeling of solace will go out the window.

DrJ,
If fUCLA beats SC in 19…can you begin to imagine Onerous stepping his AH game up a notch?
Oh my. From un’bear’able to apoplectic. Geez, SC boards will be inventing new adjectives for his act.
He’ll always be just ‘little onerous’ to me.

It seems like every year since Clay Helton took over a new PAC 12 program leap frogs USC. Oregon, Arizona State, and Cal have laid the foundation for success with just a blink of an eye.

I have never understood why ANYONE would want to spend 4 college years at Oregon. Moss grows under your fingernails. Poverty with a view.
I’d like, for once, to hear what brand of syrup they feed potential recruits.
As for Berkeley…this is the first time in a long time that the Chancellor’s office, the AD & the HFB coach have been on the same page.
